The gorge is super cool!
During one week in the summer of 2002, more than 34 inches of rain fell in the upper watershed of the Guadalupe River, setting off a torrent of floodwater. The historic flood sliced open the ground below the spillway, creating a gigantic 64-acre Gorge and exposing ancient, cretaceous limestone, fossils and even dinosaur footprints 110 million years old.
Visitors can take a 2-mile hike along the north rim of the gorge for $5/person. Tours are also available for $15-$20.

Startz is our go-to for breakfast around here. It’s a no-frills, family-run diner with a little bit of everything on the menu. Chase’s favorite is the big breakfast, and Sarah loves their breakfast tacos.
