Consistently delicious dinner, very sexy little bar and craft cocktails and a courtyard. Brunch is new. Surprisingly, the best burger ever. Mariza ties with Mariza for date night.

Funky place with super-fresh breakfast and lunch, as well as fresh juices. One of the first of Bywater's "renaissance restaurants". Funky little courtyard to the side. No table service.

Urbane dinner + sexy but relaxed bar. The black linguini with shrimp and crab is not to be missed. Also, I order burrata on toast twice. At the same sitting. Romantic and energetic.

Casual pizzeria for lunch and dinner, just out your door. By-the-slice or full pizzas as big as a, well, a big pizza. DO NOT be afraid of the vegan pasta - it's always the best. Nice outside seating.

What can I say - my home away from home. You'll find me working here almost every day. Iced Mocha, Espresso Milk Shake, and Ice Cream in a sleek, modern, white, yet somehow still New Orleans-y spot.

Delish breakfast and lunch in an old corner store. Best baked goods in the city - I LOVE the blueberry tart. Sit outside in good weather, and say hi to Maître D', the cat who hangs out at the door.

Total must. You will go and you will just 'get it'. Random backyard behind wine shop with charming live music, twinkle lights, big fun crowds, gourmet food for pennies on the dollar. One word: Sunset.

Great dive bar. Sold in 2014 and while promised not to change, has fewer old men and more hipsters. Still good. My favorite bumper sticker ever: "F*¢k you - I live three blocks from Bud Rips".

One of the oddest little groceries you're likely to visit, usually with a cast of characters. 24 hours, and an interesting selection of groceries (local and international), as well as feather boas.
