Really nice view of the river and a nice open space outside where you can relax next to a fire pit. It will be a great experience taking the ferry, since it's in the Amsterdam - Noord (North).

Run by students, this bar, cafe and film theater is a great place to hang out in. During the day the cafe is usually busy with students studying and hanging out or the local inhabitants having their morning coffee + newspaper. By evening there will be all sorts of people waiting in the cafe for their film to start.

The biggest market in Europe: IJhallen

This is the biggest market of Europe that is once a month, usually the first weekend of the month. But l suggest that you check out the website before: ijhallen.nl Its a great stroll to get some funky items. Otherwise there are lots of people selling clothes as well. Try to go as early as possible, before all the good things are gone. Note that the entry is 5 euros.
