Hikes and Walks

Nice, flat half mile loop path through the property, with an extra bit to the stream on the other side of 28. They also have a full sized firetower so you can check out this cool historic feature of the Catskills without climbing a mountain. Trail is perfect for small kids and folks with mobility issues.

Two mile loop hike with two stunning outlooks over Phoenicia and the Esopus. For a quick morning hike, I often do and out and back to the first outlook, sit and eat or read, and then head back down - its about 25 mins to the first outlook.

Stunning short hike through a variety of ecosystems. The rail trail has a nice view of farms and a beaver pond (have seen beavers there multiple times), and the spur part of the trail takes you through ferns and a pine forest.

Best view without having to climb a mountain! You can see many mountains in the Catskills from the parking area. The hike is lovely - mown paths through fields and an old orchard, as well as some forest and rock walls. Rolling hills, very different than most of the deeply wooded Catskill hikes.

You can access this hike from the end of Lane Street, about .75 mil walk from the cabin. About three miles up through gorgeous forests and stream crossing to the first peak. You can take this trail all the way to the Woodland Valley campsite if you're feeling adventurous (about 9 miles)
