Boulevard Park is a wonderful park right on Bellingham Bay. Easy walking and biking paths, all along the water, that lead either, north into downtown Bellingham, or south into Fairhaven Village. Also has a coffee shop in the park.

Another waterfront park with walking/biking paths that wrap around the harbor. Great place for kite flying on a breezy day. Paths along the harbor lead to Bellwether Way where there are several good restaurants, all with lovely harbor views.

A drive up or down Chuckanut Drive is a must, and Larrabee State Park is an excellent stop along the way. The paths lead to stunning views looking south over Bellingham and Samish Bays. Or you can take a mountain hike up Chuckanut Mountain for more stunning views.

About a 45 minute drive from Bellingham to the ski area. Great hiking during the off season. Great skiing during the winter. On the drive up you can stop in Glacier where there are several options of good eateries and just past Glacier, on Mt Baker Hwy, stop for a look and a walk up to Nooksack Falls, an 88 foot waterfall.
