Fantastic pub right on the river, and only a few minutes walk from The Old Bakehouse. A great place to stop for a few drinks, but serves excellent food as well. Family friendly.

Beautiful pub with picturesque views over the running water of Harbourne River. Kids can play in the shallow water in the warmer months, while adults enjoy a drink and maybe a bite to eat. The sandwiches/lunches here are amazing!

Parks & Nature

Stunning beach that can be enjoyed any time of year, with excellent on site cafe and amenities. In the summer months the kids can swim/surf whilst the grown ups soak up the sun, or in the winter months enjoy the stunning views and skim some stones across the sea. Despite the name, this beach is actually made up of stones rather than sand

Entertainment & Activities

A great place to spend a couple of hours with young kids. Let them loose in the arcade and let them try to win tickets, or head to the end of the pier for a cup of tea whilst the kids play on the trampolines and mini go karts. Once the 10ps have all gone head down to the beach or check out the large activity play area across the road.

A fantastically high quality Zoo, with a huge selection of animals kept in beautiful surroundings. This is easily one of the best Zoo's we have ever visited and will certainly be back many more times in the future. A must visit for families.

Perfect for rainy days, the art cafe is a wonderful little pottery painting cafe in the stunning town of Kingsbridge. Pick out an item (eg plate, mug, money pot etc) and enjoy a hot cup of coffee and a snack whilst creating your masterpiece. Once complete they need a couple of days to put your pottery through the kiln to get the glossy finish, so try and book early in your trip so you have time to come back to collect your items. Alternatively they can send them home to you.

Totnes is the closest town to The Old Bakehouse, and is definitely worth a visit. A beautiful little town set on the River Dart, with lots of independent shops, bakeries and restaurants to look around.
