A relaxed restaurant with great food, good beer selection, nice staff and reasonable prices. The brunch on Saturdays and Sundays is also worth going, for that it's good to book a table in advance.

Great food, mixing Moroccan cooking with contemporary. Vegetarian/vegan brunch on Sat, a normal one on Sun. Always book a table, even on weekdays. Not the cheapest, but good food in a nice atmosphere.

Best döner in town, a quality version of it, made into a real nice meal with fresh ingredients. The vegetarian version made of seitan is excellent too, as is the wine selection to go with the food.

Essentials

One of the three old-fashioned market halls in Helsinki, with lots of small stores, mainly for groceries, but upstairs for other products as well. Worth seeing, even if you don't need to buy anything.

Everything Else

A market for mainly groceries from Mon to Sat, as well as a larger, more varied market every first Sunday of a month. The prices here are mostly reasonable and the quality better than in supermarkets.

One of the traditional public saunas in Helsinki, wooden heated and dating back to the 1920s when people didn't have washing facilities at home and used these places instead. Well worth a visit!
