Next to New Farm park, easy to access on the City Cat (Ferry), the Powerhouse often has some free exhibitions to see and performances aplenty. Nice place to have a beer on the river, too.

One of my favourite places in Brisbane... only 15 mins from the city by car or 30 mins by bus (471) ...with extraordinary views all over Brisbane! On a clear day you can see down to the Gold Coast.

Aussichtspunkt Mount Coot-tha
1012 Sir Samuel Griffith DrOne of my favourite places in Brisbane... only 15 mins from the city by car or 30 mins by bus (471) ...with extraordinary views all over Brisbane! On a clear day you can see down to the Gold Coast.
I highly recommend seeing one of the shows at the Planetarium, particularly because they give a fantastic 20 minute explanation of the constellations in the night sky, here in the Southern Hemisphere

Right next to the Planetarium, there are daily tours of these beautiful, huge and diverse botanic gardens. Nice place to go for a picnic too. Catch the 471 (bus) from City or Milton to Mt. Coot-tha.

This is one of the oldest Universities in Australia and has a beautiful sandstone "Great Court" where lots of wedding photos are taken. Also has award winning architecture and lovely ponds & gardens.

In the city (Bus 199 and 60 stop just in front), it houses the Brisbane Museum. There are daily tours of the city hall and you can go up the clock tower. It is also where the Brisbane Greeters begin.
