Its 1 minute walk away from our house! Sandrine is a lovely host and her husband Stephane is a great cook so you will not be disappointed. Friday nights a good for a lively drink with the locals and Sunday lunch is a relaxed French affair.

Of significant historic interest is the site of Oradour-Sur-Glane, known as the village of the martyrs, where in 1944 the waffen SS massacred almost the entire population and then set fire to the buildings. The village has been preserved in it's ruined state by the French Government as a reminder to all of us that these horrific atrocities should never happen. It is a worthwhile if sobering place to visit.

The village has been preserved in it's ruined state by the French Government as a reminder to all of us that these horrific atrocities should never happen. It is a worthwhile if sobering place to visit.
