Things to do in Bath when it is wet...
This is an absolutely fabulous place to visit and they have audio guides in numerous languages (and a kids tour too) and an additional tour by Bill Bryson, which is in his usual witty style. In late 2019 they are hoping to open a new exercise area that they have been excavating which has not previously been revealed to the public - it is under a street (and buildings) adjoining the baths. If you never have, don't forget to try the waters, you get a free 'cone' at the end, but I would recommend that you down it in one and don't sniff it!

An interesting historical trip looking at various fashion through the ages. They also have guest exhibits, so it is worth checking the website for more details around the time of your visit.

We have not been here personally, yet, but have heard lovely things from people who have visited. There are lots of different spa activities, including a rooftop pool, which is a wonderful experience for watching the sun go down.

A strange thing to recommend maybe, but it is a fabulous store to visit if you have never been in one before. We can spend over an hour here with our little one - the staff are uber friendly and happy to talk and to show you the products which are all sustainable and very friendly too.

Outdoor Activities

Places to go, things to see on a dry day...
The botanical gardens are a lovely place for a wander if you are just looking to meander some time away in a beautiful setting. Spring is lovely for the blossom. You can easily include this in the country walk route down from our house into Bath.

Along six miles of way-marked footpaths you will discover hidden valleys, rich in limestone, flowers and tranquil beech woodlands, interspersed with extensive views over Bath and out towards the Blackdown Hills. If you would like a flat walk - then you can take the bus into town (or stroll down the hill) and then you can walk from Bath, East to Bradford on Avon (or further) and then catch the train back - or if you get talking to the Canal boaters, one may even be happy to give you a lift back... generally they are a pretty kind bunch of people if you talk to boat owners rather than the tourist boats.
