Salcombe – TQ8 8DU (Creek car park) – 25 Minutes drive from property. This seaside town, famous for its Sailing Regatta’s attracts many visitors in the summer season. Whilst it does get busy, it hosts some lovely individual shops, as well as the stores of Jack Wills, Joules, Crew, Musto and Fat Face usually found in these seaside towns. We tend to have a quick look around the shops (Dogs welcome) before hopping on the passenger ferry to cross the harbour to East Portlemouth. •Get the ferry from Jubilee Ferry Pier – next to the Ferry Inn. •Runs weekdays 8am-7pm – half hourly •Runs weekends 8.30am – 7pm – half hourly •Costs: Adult 1.60, Child (2-14yrs) 1.10, Dogs free! Dartmouth – TQ6 9NF (Mayor’s Avenue Car Park) – 30 Minutes drive from property. The nautical seaside town of Dartmouth is perfect for another day out. Home to the Royal Naval College Britannia, where Royal Navy officers receive their initial training, it is steeped in history and tradition. We like to stroll through the cobbled streets with independent and larger shops to browse. There are many art shops to explore and one of our favourite’s is Paul Barclay Designs found on Oxford Street. Usually always in the store to sign and personalize any prints, Barclay’s commissions for his art have spread globally from super yachts to military vessels. Well worth a visit. Whilst there, our favourite places to stop and eat are Bayards Cove Inn on Lower Street or The Floating Bridge on Coombe Road. You can also access many local ferry trips from Dartmouth, most popular is a trip to Greenway, once the home of Agatha Christie.
