Lake Macbride State Park is Iowa's largest-2180 acres state park. It is a 20 minute ride north through the town of Solon. Solon has great food options!
Big Grove Brewery, Red Vespa and the Brass Fountain are right on Solon’s Main Street. Moxie&Mortar is a beautiful home goods store to visit!
While at Lake McBride, you can boat in the lake or relax on the beach with refreshments from the concession stand. Pontoons, motor boats, canoes, kayaks and paddle boards can also be rented at the beach.
Hike one of the many multi-use trails at Lake Macbride. There are more than seven miles of hiking trails wind around the lake.

Apple Orchard and Cidery
Wilson’s is a U-Pick apple orchard located just North of Iowa City. Surrounded by old oak forest, the farm occupies both sides of a valley with Rapid Creek winding through the land.

Amish Community
Kalona Creamery is just one of the many places to stop along the way to the town of Kalona. There is a terrific Amish goods store (Stringtown) just around the corner from this creamery, and an amazing Amish bakery (Golden Delight) further up the road about 3 miles. The Kalona Brewery is in Kalona's town center, as is a very cool metal fabricator (Max Cast) and a small animal auction house (Kalona Sales Barn)
