Bakery and coffee shop. Best homemade sour dough bread ever! Plus pastries, sandwiches, and great coffee. I highly recommend the avocado toast! Outdoor dining around a fire pit is available.

Taconooga is not in the neighborhood, but it's worth the short drive across the river to have the most authentic Mexican food in town! The enchiladas are to die for! And while you're there, cruise down Frazier Avenue and enjoy Coolidge Park running alongside the Tennessee River. This is a day's adventure all in and of itself! My favorite thing to do? Grab some enchiladas at Taconooga, throw a blanket down on the grass in Coolidge Park, and have a picnic!

Thai Smile is also not right in the neighborhood, but it's a short drive down Market Street to find what I think is the best Thai food in town. Locally owned, authentic and delicious!
And now I've learned that Alex Thai which IS right in the neighborhood IS Thai Smile! Both restaurants are owned and operated by the same great restauranteurs!

Wonderful food! Located at the corner of 8th Street and Pine, the Old Gilman Grill offers outdoor seating, really good food, quick and easy service. I stopped in for a quick, late lunch and I enjoyed myself so much that I stayed for two glasses of wine, a beautiful pasta plate filled with pancetta, blackened grilled shrimp and roasted red pepper, AND bread pudding a la mode! I will definitely be heading back to this awesome restaurant to try the next best thing on the menu!

Sightseeing
It's Chattanooga's train station converted to restaurants and a hotel, so it's a historic must-see. The Frothy Monkey coffee shop is a Tennessee favorite and they have great food. Stir, a full service restaurant and bar, also has great drinks and food. Brunch there is wonderful! Outdoor dining is available. There are some fun things to see and do in the huge courtyard, including ice skating in the winter, but the rooms in the hotel leave a little to be desired. So just walk through, see the sights, and then move on! There are some bars and music venues in the hotel as well.

Lookout Mountain is just a short drive away, and it is a mountain village that is breathtakingly beautiful. Visit Rock City, Ruby Falls, or Point Park, and if you're a history buff, maybe the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Park.

One of my favorite streets in Chattanooga! Restaurants, boutiques, art galleries, ice cream shops and coffee shops! So interesting and eclectic! And Frazier Avenue is the street from which you access Coolidge Park, a must visit!
