Our local marina is a great entry point to put your boat into the water but also has a lovely pub / tavern for some nice food and wine / beer.

Amazing Japanese food where they make their own wines also. Sometimes the cows come up to the fence which can keep the kids amused, or the very large aquarium with brightly coloured tropical fish . My daughters favourite must do activity when we come down .

We love just walking on the foreshore . Great to bring your bikes to ride along or go for a nice walk. There is a huge play area with basketball hoops , skateboard / skating rink , and closer to the beach there is a separate shipwreck and play area suitable for the little ones . Netted area in the ocean to swim in also

Only a 5 minute drive away from our house in the Tuart Forrest . Different levels of difficulty and fun for children of all ages including the older teenagers. Just remember the mossie spray as at different times of the year they can be so prolific .

The longest wooden jetty in the Southern Hemisphere at 1.8km long. Either walk the distance yourself or catch the little tram which takes you to the end where there is an underwater observatory. Kids love catching the tram .

If you are a nature lover this is the largest remaining pure tuart Forrest in the world. You can do an easy 1.5 km walk through the Forrest at night time and see the rare ring tailed possum or the more common brush tailed possums . Leave from the layman picnic area .

Higgins RoadIf you are a nature lover this is the largest remaining pure tuart Forrest in the world. You can do an easy 1.5 km walk through the Forrest at night time and see the rare ring tailed possum or the more common brush tailed possums . Leave from the layman picnic area .
If you are a bird lover it’s a great place to see them all nesting . There are over 75 native and migratory birds with some very rare ones also. Quite a few of the birds fly over to our house also . Walking distance from our house .
