Beaches
There are so many beautiful beaches in and around Bude. The Coastal path is stunning, with hidden coves, steep and dramatic cliffs and long sandy beaches.
This beach is lovely and quiet. It is approximately a 30 minute walk over the cliff top or a 5 minute drive (down Maer Lane). If you get the tides right, you can walk all the way on the beach from Summerleaze with some beautiful and interesting sites on the way. Parking is in the National Trust car park. There is a wonderful Rustic Tea garden where you can purchase all sorts of culinary delights and sit by the meandering river to devour them! It has all the charms of a rural beach but it is close to town.

Northcott Mouth Beach

Summerleaze Beach is the main town beach and the closest to Willber. The easiest way to reach it is by walking through the town centre. At Summerleaze you will find the amazing Victorian Sea pool, canal and The Breakwater. Plenty to explore.

A beautiful beach that is only 2 miles out of town travelling south. The beach is quite big and is a favourite with surfers. There are some lovely places to eat here with great sunsets. You have The Beach, The Bay View and The Widemouth Manor.

This is the other beach in town, north of Summerleaze. A quick walk over the golf course is the shortest route. There is lifeguard cover here and is the access area to the coastal path to the North.

Bude Sea Pool is a semi-natural amenity that has provided a haven for free and safe bathing and other water-based activities since the 1930s. It is ranked as number 1 visitor attraction in Bude. A great place to go for an early morning dip!

A favourite with many visitors and great for a day out. Vehicle access is down through a narrow valley and parking can sometimes be tricky during peak season.

The canal has its own history and once went the whole way to Holsworthy. These days you can walk about 2 miles up the tow path, enjoying the birdlife and nature. At the far end you can enjoy some refreshments at 'The Weir'. From the Bude end, refreshments at 'The Barge' is a must providing a memorable dining experience on the historic canal.

Hartland Quay is a secret gem and well worth a day trip out of town. Drive down the winding coast road to the end. Incredible views with a lovely gift shop and a great place to start stunning coastal path walks.

Definitely one of our favourite places to visit, that lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. A quaint little fishing port, not too far from Bude. It has a picturesque harbour and stunning scenery.
