A short walk or a leisurely drive will bring you to some wonderful local Wiltshire attractions.
Lacock Abbey is walking distance from our place. The whole village of Lacock is owned by the National Trust. Beautifully preserved furnished rooms and sculleries tell the history of the Abbey from the Monks through to the Aristocracy, including the Fox Talbot museum detailing the invention of Photography. The Abbey and village are regularly used for period film productions. Recently, Downton Abbey, Harry Potter, Wolf Hall and Pride & Prejudice. A must visit during your stay with us.
There are plenty of cafes, pubs, restaurants and gift shops to cater to your every need.

Famous for the filming of Doctor Doolitte, but also used for many recent TV productions, Castle Combe is a perfect example of a quaint Cotswolds village. It has parking at the top of the village and several pubs with outdoor seating, great for a Sunday brunch.

Visit our local town, Corsham for a chance to see the old Almshouses and Corsham Court with its revered art collection.
The Methuen Arms in the centre of town provides quality pub food with a cozy bar and also a lovely outdoor seating area.

Visit Bradford-on-Avon to see the canals which were used for the local wool trade. In the summer you can hire a small boat or canoe to explore the waterways. This is another very picturesque town with plenty of shopping, cafes and restaurants to ensure a leisurely day out for all the family

Within a 50min drive, Avebury Henge is a smaller version of Stonehenge and you can walk freely amongst the huge rocks. There is a local pub serving wonderful roasts and light meals.

Bath is a very easy 35min drive or short 9min train ride from nearby Chippenham. Tour the excavated Roman Baths or book into the modern rooftop Spa for treatments, a twilight swim and a meal.
