Nice restaurant and pizzeria with an amazing view on the Giudecca Canal. Ask a table outside and enjoy the sunset. You won't regret it! Very reasonable prices for such a beautiful location.

A popular place for a typical Venetian aperitif, but they also serve tasty meat dishes. During the summer you can sip your glass sitting on an old fishing boat.

Small and welcoming vegetarian tea-house and bookshop. Great for snacks, love their chickpea hummus served with raw carrots and turmeric bread and savory focaccia, but I also suggest trying their desserts and cakes. The chocolate and almond cake is absolutely mouthwatering (vegan and gluten free) not to mention the cookies... They also produce an organic prosecco called Lunatico, thus if you come here you can be sure of the quality of the ingredients. Love it!

Meaning “The pumpkin”. A place for people looking for fresh vegetable courses made with natural ingredients, vegetarian dishes, but not only! Try their pumpkin flan. It’s a small but very romantic location, so better make a reservation! Close to the beautiful square of San Giacomo dell’Orio.

This very friendly 100% vegan place is located quite far from the centre and is definitely worth a visit. Simple and easy going atmosphere and lots of creative dishes at extremely affordable prices. They became known for their aubergines in saor, but I also suggest trying the first courses (especially anything that comes with the rocket salad pesto) and the chocolate desserts! Generous portions too!

Vegan-friendly location for lunch and snacks. This trendy and easy-going eatery and cafeteria offers a short (synonym of fresh!) list of daily made dishes that always include lots of veggies. They also have options for vegans but as everything is made at the moment you can always ask to remove or replace some ingredients.

The historical importance of this place was due to its location: exactly halfway between the economic centre (Rialto) and political heart of the Venetian Republic (Piazza San Marco). The magnificent building from the 15th century has been restored, preserving its special spiral staircase (“bovolo” means snail). You can climb the stairs and have a breathtaking view over Venice. Open every day from 9.30 – 17.30, ticket: 8 euro including the visit of its small museum (check opening hours online as they could change)

Campo del Ghetto nuovo is the hart of Cannaregio, Venice's second largest district (after Castello). Most tourists do not go beyond “ Strada Nuova”, the busy shopping street between the railway station and Rialto Bridge. Get lost in the Ghetto, the world’s oldest Jewish neighbourhood with its synagogues and Jewish museum. “Fondamenta della Misericordia” is offering many nice restaurants with a terrace at the water side, ideal on hot summer evenings.
