Great place for those of us with special diets, and there are great sidewalks for walking and shopping around here. Mostly food places, but there are some spa places, a gym, and fed ex here if you need it.

This parking lot is always full but it has a large variety of international foods and basic cooking needs. Less than 1.5miles and walkable for the able bodied OR a short ride on the bus.

dog park favorites
It is really at 51st and tuckerman St (don't let googlemaps take you to the softball fields) The best place for your dogs to run free! There is a pond/puddle depending on the time of year but we have a hose to clean the dogs off before coming inside

On the other side of the county but very nice, large and free dog park. Our girls enjoyed their hour running around there.

Metro, transportation and Parking Apps
Parking in DC uses an app called ParkMobile that you can use to pay for your spot from your car or any location. You can also reserve spaces in advance using SpotHero or ParkWhiz (very important for Mall visits and Zoo visits). Be sure to leave no valuables in your cars when you park anywhere in the area (car thefts are high due to the pandemic). Wmata trip planner (washington area metro) - we are closest to College Park (green line and closed thru Sept 6th) and New Carrollton (orange line), but also near the Riverdale MARC train stop.
