My favourite places in Ljubljana
Sightseeing
Do you love watching sunrises and sunsets? Then Castle hill is a place to be. I love to walk up but also taking a funicular is great for the short panoramic ride.
Castle has a great museum about Slovenian history. Hey, I am not a big fan of museums but this one has great presentations from artifacts, pictures, and videos. Plus it's just the right size for a comfortable visit. Check at the ticket office what else they offer - they are always coming up with fresh ideas. There are two restaurants there, a coffee shop and a souvenir shop so it's a great stop for a drink, lunch, dinner, or some shopping.

This is Ljubljana's first skyscraper. It's a great place if you enjoy seeing great views of the city. Go to the 12th floor to enjoy the lovely bar with an outdoor seating area and fantastic views!
Don't forget to take your camera with you. The skyscraper offers views in all directions!

Park
Our city center is linked with this lovely park with a straight line from Prešeren Square - it used to be called Ljubljana's promenade. That's where in the 1930s opera singers, who led the fashion scene, showed off their elegant style.
We no longer parade there in our fine Sunday clothes but we still enjoy our lovely park, feed our squirrels, visit one of the mansions or walk up to Rožnik hill.

TivoliOur city center is linked with this lovely park with a straight line from Prešeren Square - it used to be called Ljubljana's promenade. That's where in the 1930s opera singers, who led the fashion scene, showed off their elegant style.

Coffee place
The coffee place is run by a real barista Tine, who loves talking about coffee. Make sure to get a table outside and look out for our "Big Ben" ti. the clock on the Puppet Theatre.
Every hour on the hour Kobilica the horse shows up, followed by Krpan, carrying a knife. When he raises it, the horse hurries back inside with Krpan in pursuit, a scene taken from the puppet show.
Krpan has been chasing Kobilica around the clock and delighting children since 1992.

Neighbourhoods
Lovely, green area, close to Ljubljanica river. Enjoy Plečnik's house, Trnovo parish church, and my favorite bridge Trnovski most also designed by Plečnik.
It connects the neighborhoods of Trnovo and Krakovo, the oldest Ljubljana suburbs, known for their market gardens and cultural events.
Trnovo has some lovely bars and places for foodies. Look up restaurants Pri Škofu, Manna and pastery shop Lolita - Eipprova.
Trnovo is the place where i grew up. My primary school and our parish church is right here. Trnovo's church is the most famous in Slovenia - this is where Prešeren (hellooo, main square in Ljubljana is named after him) first laid his eyes on Julija and fell in love. She never cared for him even if he dedicated some lovely poetry to her.

Hidden in the backstreets, a great vegetarian and vegan restaurant. Gets busy with locals during lunchtime. Nice outdoor garden, too.
