One of my favourite restaurants for peri peri chicken and chips! Best value, and best tasting. It's a testament to the restaurant that it's almost always full - and they've expanded their space to accommodate everyone.

In the extended section of Sam Levy's Village, this is another favourite restaurant, with great service too. If you like Indian food, you won't find better in Harare.

As well as doing your grocery shopping in the adjoining supermarket, there's a cafe (indoor and outdoor) where you can get breakfast at an unbeatable price. Definitely recommended, for lunches too.

A lively place at night because of the huge sports screen, this is a favourite with locals, especially because of the competitively priced peri peri chicken and chips. Great value, and fun to people-watch.

Just down the road, this is another restaurant set in beautiful surroundings. There's a garden nursery attached to it too. Good value, and the place is usually full.

The Village is a hub for the northern suburbs, with movies, shops, restaurants, internet cafe, supermarkets, cafes. Aesthetically pleasing, it is laid out like a village, complete with clock in the centre.

Fun to browse through this well organised market. Second hand clothes and books, crafts, electronics, you name it, anything can be found here! And you can haggle.

Essentials
Spar, which is round the corner in Ballantyne Park, is very good value, usually cheaper than other supermarkets. It's open until 7pm. There are also vendors selling fruit and vegetables outside the supermarket, and I always like to support them.

Domobshawa is a sacred site for the Shona people, and a beautiful kopje. It's a gentle slope, easy to climb - twenty minutes at most - with cave art. A favourite activity is taking a cooler bag with drinks and snacks and climbing the rock for a sundowner at the top. Wonderful panoramic views.

This is a must, if you are interested in Zimbabwean art and culture. There's also a shop and cafe, and the gallery is attached to the Harare Gardens, where sculptures are displayed. The Harare International Festival of the Arts takes place here in the last week of April.
