Sightseeing

You don't have to go to Culebra or Vieques to enjoy the crystal clear waters. Cayo Icacos is a beautiful key in the Fajardo area. There are water taxis located in Las Croabas departing daily. they will drop off you there and bring you back. You must take plenty of off, cooler, food, chairs, and an umbrella, if you wish. You can take your snorkel and flippers because it is nice to snorkel. If you like to walk or snorkel and you are a good swimmer i recommend you walk (when the tide is beginning to get low to the west side in the direction of Palomino) and turn east to reach the back side of the island (in the way to Cayo Ratones). There is a reef and you also can swim to Cayo Ratones. Remember to bring your trash back.

Fajardo is not only about the beach, we have a nice and beautiful little but playful little river. Its located at 19 to 26 minutes from the apartment. Its great to go in a very sunny day. There is a parking in the area and from there you must walk until you reach the area. Take a little cooler and sandwiches or pack light.

This is a very, very, very beautiful but dangerous beach. It is prone to rip currents. But it is still worth visiting. You must hike like 30 minutes walking or jogging from seven seas. You can take a chair and a little cooler or pack light. In your way you can check Playa Colora or Red Beach.

This is a contemplation beach. It is not recommended for swimming. With high waves i do not recommend even be close to the water. You must hike or jog from seven seas. No too much shadow once there.

You get there hiking or jogging from seven seas, but i most say that to get there from Playa Colora or Escondida you most have good knees to get there. I never been there myself.

I dont know who the hell gave this name to this beach because it is locally known as Playa los Veves (name of the originals owners) or La Matita, (because there is a single mangrove plant in the shoreline). You most walk or kayak to get there. It is 30 minutes walking from seven seas to the east. Parking its hectic in that area if you arrive late, But if you get there early you can get a nice parking.

This is a beautiful beach. The sand is white and the shoreline is beautifull. Full of trees and palm trees for shade. You can hike all the way to the end of the beach and into the mangrove at the end.

This is a nice beach in Ceiba, 30 minutes from the apartment by car. If you are a very good swimmer you can snorkel to the key in front. There is all sort of marine life in those waters, from rays to sharks to everything. It was called All Hands Beach when the US navy had the base there.

Cayo Piñeiro is just beautiful and less crowded than the more popular Cayo Icacos, Palomino or Palominito. You get there by boat, jet ski or Kayaking. To Kayak there you most be very fit. It takes two to two and a half hour to get there. The Route is very beautifull especially if you go trough the mangrove. I bet if you go during the week, you'll find the beaches to your self. It has two beaches, one to your the east and one in the west side.

There is a beautiful beach and reef in Punta Medio Mundo. Once there the view of Fajardo and El Yunque is amazing. Kayaking directly from Playa Los Machos is 45 minutes to one hour to get there. You most take water and something to eat. Pack lightly, but pack.
