Bicycle and Paddle Board Hire

This was a really great day out! We hired electric bikes from Padstow Cycle Hire because we wanted to do the whole 35 miles (17.5 miles in each direction) and we are certainly not "bike fit". They are really friendly and have a large selection of bikes. The trail is almost all traffic free ( except a short stretch in Wadebridge where there is a cycle lane) and flat as it follows the path of an old railway line. We started along a wide estuary and followed it upstream to a tributary which got progressively smaller - I loved the far end in the woods all covered with bluebells! I made a short video for instagram to give a flavour ... https://www.instagram.com/reel/CdStxKtK6Oa/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y= The link for the bike hire is https://www.padstowcyclehire.com/bike-hire/

Padstow Sea Safaris

If you want to get out on the water and very possibly see some ocean life (seals/dolphins/whales/interesting birds etc) then this trip comes very highly recommended. Whilst nothing can be guaranteed, some recent guests, with 2 children aged 8 and 10, described it as one of the main highlights of their stay! NB They also do special "Puffin trips" in season

Seal Watching

A good late autumn/winter time expedition! Mutton Cove at Godrevy Point is well known for its large grey seal colony, but there are also lots of birds and you may well see dolphins, porpoises or even a basking shark! A single lane access road of the B3301 leads to the National Trust car park (and the Godrevy Cafe!). Take a walk along the National Trust cliff tops and then look down to get a great view of the grey seals! (The beach is not accessible to humans to protect them). There are almost always some there but autumn and winter are great time to visit because the mums have their pups September to January - there are sometimes over a hundred of them on the beach! * NB Make sure you time your visit for low tide and bring a pair of the binoculars that you will find in the cottage
