Yo can't stay Porthleven and not visit the Ship, great food, and beer, cider. With plenty of outside seating and dogs are definitely considered equals here, and you'll always get chatting to someone.

Nature and walks

A great walk along the coast to this inland lake and massive sand bar beach. If you want to go that bit further head to Gunwalloe where there's a beach cafe too. Alternatively head for the 'stables' cafe. Just beware though this beach and lake are not for swimming in.

A stunning sandy beach with the Hayle river Estuary running through it, and on the other side of the banks is Porthkidney beach. Not much in terms of facilities here, it feels like the Caribbean has come to Cornwall.

Sightseeing

Helford offer a wonderful escape from the usual hustle and bustle of Cornwall. There are pubs on opposite sides of the river which you can reach via the ferry. This is Daphne Du Maurier country, and it feels like another world.
