Food scene
Wharf Road, has an excellent kiosk for coffee and freshly baked pastries and is open at 7: AM. Bovista, The Coast Cafe and Smileys Salon has excellent food. The latter even has vegan. The Peoples Store, behind the library, has homemade soup, other lunch foods, and organic locally grown vegetables. The farm stand , you passed on your left before you came into town, is open 24 hours . During the day there is usually an art exhibit in the building and sometimes at night there is music. Also, an unusual shop for vintage clothing in an old boat.

Excellent beach for walking at low tide and tide pooling. Follow Elm Street to the end. Park in lot to the left. Climb up for the views. Walk as far as you can on the beach but watch the tide as you do not want to get stranded. Keep an eye out for old whale bones.

Agate Beach County Park
350 Ocean PkwyExcellent beach for walking at low tide and tide pooling. Follow Elm Street to the end. Park in lot to the left. Climb up for the views. Walk as far as you can on the beach but watch the tide as you do not want to get stranded. Keep an eye out for old whale bones.

When you enter park and go through the gate on your left. Follow the trail and enjoy the views, carefully navigate the narrow boards to cross the stream, climb the hill, find the rock benches, and the tiny hidden meditation shed.
