Getting to the Beach
It's a 10-15 minute walk or 5 minute drive across 158 Bypass (N. Croatan Highway). There is a small parking lot at the end of 5th Street but it fills up quickly. If the lot is full some people park in the adjacent parking lot (old Kmart building). Along beach road there are also other beach accesses some with Bath Houses (bathrooms and showers).

Bay Drive - Bike path/Sound Walking
Bike path/sound walking- If you walk down the end of 5th Street, there is a wide path that's fun to explore. You can take this path to the Wright Brother's Memorial or go to North end as well. Along this path there is a public boat ramp and several places to sit near the water.
Great place for kids to ride bikes.

Off Road Driving - Corolla/ Hatteras Island
Lots to explore in either location. Both locations you will want to air down your tires to around 15 psi.
If you want to make the drive north (about 1 hr) there is Currituck Lighthouse, Wild Horses and the 4wd beach access. There is public air up and air down stations near the lighthouse.
If you want to drive South toward Hatteras Island (great for fishing) you will want to air down as well. Need to purchase a ORV pass via Cape Hatteras National Seashore Online. The public air/air down stations are not as convenient. If you go to Oregon Inlet Fishing Center, there is a public air station.
