There are several good value traditional Portuguese restaurants in the town, 3 supermarkets, banks, pharmacies and health centre, plus an attractive park with riverside walks and an original Roman bridge. You will also find the towns river beach, with easy access steps, adjacent to the outdoor swimming pool.

Very reasonably priced (2 euro pp) municipal outdoor swimming pool, with separate children’s pool. It also benefits from direct access to the adjacent towns river beach.

A highly recommend exclusive restaurant for a special treat. The delicious food and wines are all sourced directly from their own Quinta (farm). The location is beautiful, you eat overlooking the properties vineyards. The chef (Tiogo) and Dutch owners are perfect hosts, taking time to explain every course in detail. Overall an unforgettable experience. Expect to pay approximately 50 euros pp inc wine.
