Sightseeing

Part of the stunning Jurassic Coast. Parking at Lulworth cove and nice steady climb up and over the hill to see Durdle Door. If parking at Lulworth, make sure you venture down to the cove for ice creams and crystal clear waters. An old smuggling bay not to be missed. If not as mobile you can park at the Durdle door car park and walk straight down the hill to see.

A nice coastal walk along the coast to see Old Harry Rocks. Park at the national trust car park near the Banks Arms pub and use the footpath along to see the Rocks. With the Banks Arms pub being open for beers and food. Along with The Pig restaurant nearby. Advised to book if looking to eat at The Pig.

The old ruined Castle at Corfe is great fun for kids and families to explore. With a model village containing lovely local tea rooms in the village itself. It’s a great place to visit in the Purbeck Hills. Be careful of travel timings as traffic back through Wareham can get busy!

Food scene

Shell Bay is a really good sea food restaurant. Best accessed by travelling to the chain ferry on the Sandbanks side and parking nearby. Then going as a foot passenger on the ferry to the restaurant. It’s approx 200m walk the other side of the ferry so not advisable if limited mobility. Remember to check last ferry timing so you don’t get stuck!
