Sightseeing

This is a lovely walkway just 15 minutes from the cottage which runs along the River Dodder. You can travel for miles in either direction - one route will take you ultimately to the city's docklands. The other out to Wicklow.

City/town information

Dublin is a cosmopolitan city with a local feel. Native Dubliners are friendly and curious but you will also hear many varied accents on the streets illustrating the changing make up of the population of Ireland. All museums are free to the public and there is a lively night scene. If you like sport, you have soccer, rugby, gaelic games (hurling and football) and horse racing at your fingertips.

Verkehrsmittel

Buses are best

All buses from the area go to the city centre. You need to hail them at the stop (put out your hand). The drivers don't give change so use a LEAP card. The cards can be topped up at Centra or Supervalu stores. Taxi journey costs no more than €15 to get into the centre. Walking is best if you have the time and the energy. Centre 45/50 mins walk through historic Victorian and Georgian Dublin.
