There are 4 ski areas within an hour of us. Shawnee Peak and Mt Abram are smaller, a bit more friendly for families, and cost less. Lost Valley in Auburn is for locals. But Sunday River is the big one.

The closest swim: Drive 2 miles southwest on Hidden Lake Rd (it becomes Rayville Rd along the way). IMMEDIATELY AFTER Sunset Drive turn right onto Sam's Landing. A single lane driveway, with parking for maybe 3 cars. There is a sandy bottom here but it's more of a swimming hole than a beach.
