Food Scene
Fresh local food that might be called mid-eastern based but that's not quite accurate. They have great falafel platters and sandwiches plus lamb and nice salads. Small and fills up fast but a treasure.

Classic French Bistro in a lovely indoor but outdoor setting. This place is a neighborhood landmark that has never rested on it's laurels; an ever changing menu that retains classics like French onion soup a killer hanger steak.

A bigger (but also local) grocery on Ponce de Leon. Pretty much a full service grocer with a prepared food section.

City Park was the largest urban green space in America until Central Park in NYC was founded. The New Orleans Museum of Art is at the front of the park (end of Esplanade Ave). There are walking/jogging trails as well as bike and boat rentals. A new children's museum is under construction and will add to other park attractions: amusement park, tennis courts, 2 golf courses, driving range. There is also a building called the Casino where Morning Call serves Cafe Au Lait and beignets 24/7.
