We loved Bagus! Such warm hearted vibes from all the staff. Jono was fastidious with the house keeping, Julie cooked amazing food, including gluten free adaptations for all meals for me! Bidet was a kind and welcoming host. We had some great jam sessions with the locals who play and sing some great Mentawai music! Note that power is only available at night as the generator is only run from sundown to sunrise which powers the lights and fans in the bungalows. Unfortunately surf guide Guntur got sick and went to hospital, but we had a great local boat driver Jusen who was showed his true seamanship with the long boat in the high seas!! The only think I would say is that it would be a good idea to confirm your desire for hiring a boat prior to arrival as we discovered that the surf camp boat had been hired out by some other spear fisherman for the first two days upon our arrival. We managed to organise another work around, but having this all locked in beforehand would have made the experience less hassle free! Overall the experience was top notch.

Nice calm and peaceful place in the middle of the jungles. We enjoyed nature around and all nice nature sounds. 5 minutes walking to the beach. The house is big. The bathroom is comfortable and well maintained. There is a big terrace to enjoy nature while reading. The food was delicious: fresh wish, fruits and vegetables. And fresh coconuts - a nice surprise. Tirti and Once brought us to beautiful snorkeling places. If you are looking for a private, calm spot on Sipora island (with no tourists) Spencer’s place is a perfect one. It’s also a perfect spot for surfing. We are not surfers but enjoyed the view on one of the best wave for surfers. All the team is very friendly and helpful! We didn’t have a connection in the house but you can have it on the beach.

I am very grateful and appreciative for a wonderful experience at Bagus surf camp. It has an amazing vibe. I love it so much so I simply extend my stay. Let’s just say I have found myself a paradise. The host is very friendly and is/was helpful with my transportation and other arrangements. The surf camp itself has a great position, beach front bungalows, great place for swimming and walking distance to 4 different surf spots. Of course plenty other surf spots around that are reachable with small boat and host is always happy to provide. The place is clean and food is delicious, very impressive of the variety of different cousin. A quick tip: ask for chocolate cake. Thank you Bidet, Guntur, Djanu, Julie and assistant (not sure what is her name) for making my trip so wonderful. I will keep coming back.

Best priced local homestay on nyang nyang with best location on the island, right on the beach. Lebidet great to organize with and happy to help. Food always good thanks Julie! Guntur always knows the spot to put you on and rips and Janno made me laugh a lot. Wouldn't stay anywhere else

J’ai passé une semaine extraordinaire dans ce surf camp avec un super rapport qualité/prix !! Le staff est au top, il y a une super ambiance et les repas sont vraiment délicieux ! Peu importe l’heure à laquelle vous vous réveillez pour aller surfer, le staff sera déjà debout prêt à vous servir votre petit déjeuner afin de prendre des forces. L’emplacement est absolument parfait puisque nous sommes à 2min d’E-bay et à 10min à pied de Pitstops. Le cadre est exceptionnel et le logement est super confort à l’intérieur comme à l’extérieur ! J’ai déjà prévu de revenir bientôt :)
