Tranquil countryside views Sue was an amazing host Our wedding weekend was superb and having a place to stay that we felt comfortable coming and going was such a bonus . Man wohnt quasi mitten in der Natur und der Blick über den Wald ist wundervoll. Hier wurde ein kleines Refugium geschaffen mit all den selbstgefertigten Holz- und Handwerksarbeiten. Respekt! Wir haben die Natur und das Haus sehr genossen. Der Weg zum Haus ist tatsächlich etwas steiler und die Warnung nur leichtes Gepäck mitzunehmen sollte ernst genommen werden, da es keinen Lastenaufzug für schwere Koffer gibt.

A lovely quaint farm stay in a secluded area just outside Geraldine. The owners were lovely and accomodating and had gone above and beyond to make sure we had a nice time (including dropping Easter eggs off for our kids on Easter morning!).

Rob is very friendly and the castle is awesome, definitely worth visiting. The house is very old and looks live in movie. There is big garden too.

This little house was perfect for our needs. Dawne met us there and had the fireplace already on. She also supplied basics and farm fresh eggs! If we’d had more time we would have stayed longer it was very comfy.

This is a very special place. Mary is a wonderful welcoming host with plenty of stories to share. Loved the quiet nights.

We stayed at Shirley's place for a night for our little blue penguins trip at Timaru. The place is absolutely lovely, and our room is located on the ground floor where we have a living room and a large balcony of our own. We really appreciated Shirley's hospitality and her serving us a nice New Zealand breakfast in the dining room on the first floor (where the host stays). We couldn't feel more at home and peaceful at Shirley's place, 5 stars!

We absolutely loved our stay at Waikonini Homestead! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with tea and cake, setting the tone for a truly delightful experience. We stayed one night in ‘Owen’s Room’, and as no other guests were booked during our visit, the homestead felt wonderfully tranquil. The warm, cozy bed made for an incredibly comfortable night, and the meals were a perfect finish to the night. Dinner (prebooked) featured a fish pie, followed by a mince tart with homemade custard—comfort food at its very finest. Mary, our host, truly made the experience unforgettable. Her warm hospitality and engaging conversations about travel, dogs, and life made us feel completely at home. And her delightful Corgis, Peppi and Anne—oh, they were absolutely adorable! The homestead itself is a treasure—an elegant old home surrounded by stunning grounds that invite you to relax and explore. The perfect blend of timeless charm and modern comfort.

We loved our stay here it was a truly beautiful place and Drew and Bron had thought of everything to make us feel at home. A unique experience having animals at the window in the morning! Would highly recommend.

Briar was a great host. Greet us at the door when we arrived. She is very friendly and instantly made us feel right at home. The guest house is spotless and such a fantastic place to just chill out and relax. It is such a beautiful home. We were impressed the moment we walked in. Unfortunately we only booked for one night. They have comfy beds and a nice breakfast for us the next morning. Wish we could have stayed longer. Could easily spend a week here. Thank you Briar for the amazing stay at your place and for being such a great host.

Brilliant hosts fantastic place. Briar and Shaun are extremely welcoming and make you feel right at home in their beautiful house. They provide great advice and suggestions on what to do based on your preferences both locally and further afield. We had really great conversations and Briar makes really good cakes! As a guest you have access to the lounge area so can relax and make yourself at home. Definitely happy to recommend

Sue and John are warm, welcoming, friendly, bright people. Location, accommodations and setting are top drawer, with great attention to creature comforts. Being able to do laundry a bonus. Breakfast tasty and conversation interesting and open. Kiwi hospitality at its finest!
