This was a convenient location for our 13 person group trip to Timberline Mountain. Most of the amenities listed were used during our stay. The forewarning about needing 4WD/AWD was essential for commuting to this location during the winter. It is very peaceful around and the locals are friendly. We do wish that the check out process was a little less tasking in terms of relocating to dispose of trash, and starting a load of laundry and dishes on top of a cleaning fee, but overall it’s definitely a great stay.

House was great for a three family share. It is maybe a 5 min walk from Timberline’s First Flurries magic carpet area. We loved the indoor hot tub. Kitchen was sufficiently stocked to cook basic meals. We would book this house again.

The place was super clean and comfortable. Well worth the price paid and Heather is a very good host as she answered any questions I had quickly and was super helpful during my stay.

We had a great stay in Davis sharing this home with another family for the weekend. It’s a perfect setup for two families, close to the park and town for amenities and it felt very private and quiet. We kept the fire going in the fireplace all weekend and enjoyed the peaceful surroundings.

We absolutely loved this house! The kitchen was beautifully designed and incredibly well-stocked—perfect for cooking and gathering. Every detail throughout the home felt so thoughtful, from the extra touches that made our stay more comfortable to the overall cleanliness and organization. You can tell a lot of effort has been put into making guests feel welcome. The location was fantastic, just a short distance from the slopes, and the home itself was cozy, spacious, and inviting. We truly enjoyed our stay and would love to return!

My husband and I and our dog Frosty had a great stay. Beautiful home with all the important features such as a hot tub and outdoor firepit and in a great location close to everything. Most importantly very private. Thank you! Mel and Dodson and Frosty boy!

We couldn’t have picked a better location to spend our 1 year wedding anniversary. We spent a beautiful Saturday at Blackwater Falls and exploring any trace of the Blackwater 100 (historic offroad race) around town. Sunday was raining and we spent the entire day at the cabin having the most peaceful day watching the clouds roll through.

The place was perfect for a 3 day weekend with the kids and grandparents to explore everything Canaan Valley has to offer. The creek out back was peaceful and the kids enjoyed exploring the area as well as the hot tub. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed and grocery store close by for the things we did need. Rita was responsive and very helpful with any and all questions. Highly recommend.

My wife and I needed a trip away from the city for the long holiday weekend where we could enjoy some good activity in peaceful surroundings with our dog. This cozy pedestal cabin in Black Bear Resort was just what we were looking for. Check in was easy by picking up the keys at the resort lodge. The place had everything we needed to a cook a couple nights for ourselves, including the gas grill on the deck. The wall-mounted 4K flatscreen TV with Roku let us relax after three active days out and about in Canaan Valley while we listened to the thunderstorms roll over the mountains each evening. This would certainly be a fine place for folks (especially with kids -- there were two sets of bunk beds in the loft) to use a base for their WV adventures any time of year!

We loved our spring break stay at Otter's Den and would return in a heartbeat! Our group was two couples, four children (ages 9 months to 8 years) and one dog, and everyone had a great time. The house is perfect for kids -- lots of open space, and an incredible supply of games, puzzles, and books. We appreciated the comfortable beds and extremely well-stocked kitchen -- it was a joy to prepare meals in. The surrounding area has no shortage of beautiful spots, and host Heather gave us excellent recommendations for walks that even the hike-resistant toddlers enjoyed. Heather was generally a perfect host -- extremely responsive, helpful, and kind. She went above and beyond in ensuring we had a good time. We hope to come back next year!

We had a wonderful time at Kimberly’s place. We cooked all of meals and the kitchen had everything we needed…probably the best stocked kitchen we seen. Hot tub was awesome and we stayed in the “off” season so the neighborhood was super quiet, which we loved! Would definitely recommend!

We loved this home! It looks out at a beautiful lake and is surrounded with trees. Very private. The hot tub was fantastic. Looked out on lake as well. We loved loved loved the couches. They were the type that had buttons to position yourself as cozy as you wanted. The wood burning fireplace is wonderful so snuggled on the couch with a blanket in front of the fire reading a book. The best! There are 3 of them so everyone gets their space. We were there during a blizzard but the community plowed very quickly. Connie and Kimberly were the perfect host. We loved everything about our stay at Dasha and Alex’s place. Cannot recommend their place enough if you have kids, love a cozy place, and want to explore, the surrounding parks, Dolly Sods, Thomas and Davis and more. We know where we’re staying on our next trip to WV! Thanks guys.

We stayed at the cabin for my fiancé’s birthday weekend and had a great time! Not only was Sarah incredibly responsive and kind, but the house was exactly what we were looking for! Relaxing, comfortable, and lots of great hiking spots nearby. We’re already discussing future stays here!
