The house is beautiful. It is located in a semi-secluded area with a burbling brook behind the property. You won't really see the next home over from the property, so it's fantastic if that's what you are looking for. The hosts were very prompt to respond anytime I needed anything and they have a book/binder within the home dedicated to helping you find various attractions in the area. I would recommend that you potentially obtain your grocery/pharmacy items before heading to the property since it's about a 30 minute drive to some of these. Also, if you happen to be checking in after sun-down, like I did, really go slow as your navigation is approaching as there is an electrical pole blocking your visualization of the house number until you're pretty much there. If you're traveling with a little one, be mindful that the home does have some antiques. I had a great time with my family there and I would stay here again. There is so much to do in the area.
Two tips on some of the attractions:
1. There is a railroad trail that has 'bikes' made for you to pedal on the rail. It is called Rail Explorers and it looked like a fun thing to do. If that's something of interest to you, I would book it out at least 3 - 4 weeks in advance as it books up.
2. Kaaterskill Falls is a great place to go if you don't mind heights, but if you do, like my family and I, you can still get to enjoy the lower waterfalls. If you are able to have someone drop you at the drop-off point, I would utilize that instead of the trolley which charges you money and drops you off at a point on a mini-highway where you still have to walk at least a 1/4 mile, on the highway, or on cliff-side before you reach the entrance.
