A rustic country theme which will not suit guests wanting new and modern. Our linen bedding, hand loomed cotton towels, handmade ceramics and Real World products add some luxury. Hurstmere Cottage is 5mins from Matakana. Nestled at the back of our farm, the cottage is surrounded in countryside with tuis, bellbirds and even kookaburras, it is instantaneous relaxation. Connected to the new cycleway you can be into the township or exploring the beaches and countryside with ease. Snells Beach is about an hour's north of Auckland and perfect for a quiet relaxed getaway. There are plenty of things to do nearby from visiting charming country cafes and wineries, or shopping at the local farmer's markets, or even taking a day trip to explore Kawau Island. If you want to explore or relax closer to the cottage, the beach is only 500m away.

Surrounded by Tuis and Wood pigeons the hut is close to Piha and Karekare…or simply stay and enjoy nature. Beaches are 10 minutes away by car. Grocery shopping and gassing up recommended beforehand. Misty Mountain Hut supports local Piha staff by paying $40/hr.
