Ferienunterkünfte direkt am Strand in West Sumatra

Laia and Ivan have made a wonderful sanctuary where I felt at home. Three delicious meals a day, beautiful surf breaks, very isolated, fast Starlink internet. "Lance's right" was working almost every day wr were there. But it's a pretty intense wave, that has an end section called: "The surgeon's table". Not to be taken lightly. Right in front there is anothe surf break aptly called: "The point". It doesn't work very often. But when it does, it's beautiful, with decent swell it has a wide face, and long sections. Very playfull. On the otherside there's also a couple of surf breaks. So, plenty of options when staying at The Point. Highly recommended ❤️

We loved Bagus! Such warm hearted vibes from all the staff. Jono was fastidious with the house keeping, Julie cooked amazing food, including gluten free adaptations for all meals for me! Bidet was a kind and welcoming host. We had some great jam sessions with the locals who play and sing some great Mentawai music! Note that power is only available at night as the generator is only run from sundown to sunrise which powers the lights and fans in the bungalows. Unfortunately surf guide Guntur got sick and went to hospital, but we had a great local boat driver Jusen who was showed his true seamanship with the long boat in the high seas!! The only think I would say is that it would be a good idea to confirm your desire for hiring a boat prior to arrival as we discovered that the surf camp boat had been hired out by some other spear fisherman for the first two days upon our arrival. We managed to organise another work around, but having this all locked in beforehand would have made the experience less hassle free! Overall the experience was top notch.

Irwantos place was beautiful and very hard to leave. He was super friendly and helpful as a solo traveller this was great I felt very comfortable. Nini was on hand all day to help out while keeping the place super tidy. She even offered me some fresh caught squid and fish. The locals were so lovely and happy. This place was very special, I definitely hope to be back

There aren't the words to describe how lovely and enjoyable our stay was at Pinilok. It was everything we hoped for and more. If you are looking for the best, most private place to stay on Sipura this is it. Unlike all the resorts nearby, you have your beach all to yourself!! The only humans we saw on our visit were all the lovely fellas who took care of us on the property and some local fishermen walking down the beach. Access to waves is spot on. Food is amazing. Anton will feed you the BEST fresh fish while Tirti can show you the best waves, snorkel spots, beaches, etc. We were missing our doggos so it was such a treat to have a brood of dogs on the property. If you are looking for a place that embodies the Mentawais, this is it. I wish we could keep the spot to ourselves but this is the place to go! Absolutely recommend and cannot wait to return.

I wish I could spend more time in the future here at Dedi’s Manalu. Loved it!
