Tiny Houses als Ferienunterkünfte in Whanganui River

Unique out of this world place to stay! Very peaceful, except the chatty birds which were lovely to watch while having our complimentary breakfast. Lovely stay and friendly hosts too :)

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt in dem Bootshaus. Es ist sehr gut ausgestattet und das Frühstück ist sehr lecker. Wer das Tongariro Crossing machen möchte, erhält viele hilfreiche Informationen von den Gastgebern. Ausserdem konnten wir Kayaks ausleihen und einen wunderschönen Fluss hinauf paddeln. Wir können das Bootshaus sehr empfehlen. Wir danken Barb und Mike für ihre Gastfreundlichkeit.

I had an amazing stay at Kristy’s cozy tiny house! The location was perfect, just a short walk to the lake, which made it even more special. Her dog, Maze, was an absolute delight – playful and friendly, making my time there even more enjoyable. Kristy herself was a wonderful host, taking the time to have a great conversation that made me feel right at home. She truly goes above and beyond – definitely superhost worthy! I’d love to come back again!

We stayed at Tim's place to do the Tongariro crossing and we are so glad we did. Tim had the fire going for when we arrived which was late and a bit chilly so it was the perfect environment to walk into, so cosy. He also let us wash our clothes in his washing machine after the crossing which was very helpful for us. The views from the hut at sunset and sunrise were amazing. He was very supportive and helpful when it came to advice for the crossing. Tim couldn't do enough to help and made our stay thoroughly enjoyable. This accommodation was one of our highlights of the whole holiday, would highly recommend this Airbnb!

We had a wonderful stay at Te Whare! This little cabin was sooo cozy and the place provided everything we needed as for cooking and washing. We loved the hot tube and the surroundings! Would strongly recommend :)

Jonathan was absolutely lovely to stay with and we felt right at home. He made sure we had everything we needed, especially since we were in a brand new cabin and were the first guests to try it out! The bed in the cabin was extremely comfy and it was tough finding the motivation to get up when we were cosy. Jonathan was very generous, offering us food and water for our stay and for our Alpine Crossing. He also drove us to a nearby walk and gave us instructions on how to get back. On our last night he even offered us wine and we listened to some music together. A very friendly chap with great stories from his life. I would highly recommend this place for people wanting to stay near Tongariro and I will definitely be looking him up again when I’m next in the area! Thank you Jonathan!

Lovely place not far from the Tongariro Alpine Crossing. The neighbourhood was very quiet. Clare was very helpful.

This was a lovely peaceful retreat with our dog in beautiful surroundings. We are very grateful.

Great place to stay in the heart of National Park. The hot tub was lovely and welcoming after a full day of exploring! The weather wasn’t on our side to do the crossing, but there was plenty of other walks and places to discover and enjoy close by. Recommend the Station cafe less than 10 mins walk for a coffee and brekkie in the morning too.

We booked this along with the main house and are in love and will be back. The whole space was amazing, well set up and stocked etc with the best views and sounds of the ocean ever. Thank you both so much again x

This is a lovely little tinyhome, it felt very private and peaceful, sitting in it's own meadow. The full kitchen facilities with decent sized fridge were a bonus for someone like me who cooks from scratch. The bathroom is on the small size but goes with the overall theme.

I enjoyed my stay. Well presented unit that had everything required. Very comfortable bed and the tv positioned for a relaxing stay. Thank you 😊

Stunning place along the river :) the cabane itself has everything that you would need and I've been amazed by the level of details in the products available (sunscreen, mosquitos repulsive, etc). Marianne has been very helpful. Since I was sick, she nicely borrowed me some warm cloths. This is a great place to hike and discover the area. Last but not least: the little dog is adorable. Even tough I'm afraid of dogs, this one conquered my heart in less than 10 minutes.

We had a wonderful stay an Jannel‘s tiny house. It was perfect to explore the Tongariro national park - just a 30 min to 1h ride to the most important hikes in the park. The proximity to Ohakune was great to quickly get some groceries and take aways. The restaurants were nice! Still, the location of the tiny house 15 min out of town was great to relax and watch stunning sunrises. Jannel and her family were very welcoming and friendly.

The pod is so lovely, photos do not do it justice! Beautifully made with thoughtful touches that make you feel right at home. Gorgeous surroundings, very peaceful, fantastic deck and fire pit and we were so grateful for the complimentary items in the fridge! Paul and Tanya are incredible hosts and the pups are so sweet. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Simon and Sue were lovely hosts and their guest studio was beautiful, what amazing detail was taken to build it. Great wifi too 🙂

If you want to get away from it all but still enjoy being indulged this is definetly the place. You won't get better hosts than Sheryl and Warren.

Diana’s place was a serene and comfortable place to stop for the night. It had everything one could need. Highly recommended.

Lianne’s place was the perfect weekend. Beautiful grounds, very private and quiet. Wally the cat is so friendly and the dogs loved to visit for pats. The place was clean and the kitchenette had everything required, the bed was so comfortable with crispy fresh linen. The shower pressure is great and the unit very warm. We fell in love with Fielding and if we ever come back through we will definitely stay again.

Such a tidy, spotlessly clean house! We loved the location and appreciated how new everything was (very fluffy towels!). Our 11-year old daughter absolutely loved the loft space! Pamela was so helpful and flexible when we had to suddenly change our booking the night before we were due to arrive (our dog got sick!). We were so grateful for this. She and her family were so lovely and welcoming when we arrived, too. The location was great, bordering on Virginia Lake. We felt a little cool both nights we stayed there but were grateful for the heatpump. The house was a good size for the 3 of us.

Mareva was a friendly and helpful host. Her children were lovely and played really well with my boy. The location was beautiful and quiet. Great for a quick getaway. Will be returning 😊

A fantastic stay over the school holidays, our kids loved the place, the location and all the stuff to do in the area. Accommodation was comfortable and spacious, exactly as pictured and described. Extra bonus was the storage shed, which was perfect to put our bikes when not in use. Would give six stars if I could for Olivia and Steven going above and beyond to post my bluetooth speaker back to me when I left it behind! Definitely would recommend.

Außergewöhnliche Unterkunft. Direkt am See - einfach unbeschreiblich schön. Kann ich nur empfehlen. Auch die Toiletten Anlagen sind sauber und gut gepflegt. Sollte man einen leichten Schlaf haben bietet die Unterkunft Ohropax da es auch an einer viel befahrenen Straße liegt. War für mich kein Problem
