I had an amazing stay! The room is very comfortable and tidy, and they make sure to keep it that way by cleaning it daily (during the time the room is empty). The location is very convenient as it is surrounded by many cafes, restaurants, bakeries, shops, pubs, etc. I also found a close money exchange store near by (with really cheap exchange rates!!) The staff is really friendly and did amazingly well at making my stay as comfortable as possible. Thank you very much for contributing to this great travel experience!

Highly recommend! The hotel is in a very charming French style building, and it is located in one of the best areas of West Lake. The room was spacious and had everything you'll need, including a kitchen, a large bathroom, sofa, work desk, and several windows that allow for a lot of natural light. The host was super helpful and very responsive to our needs. Will stay again if we're ever in Hanoi again in the future!

Star Anise 301 - Maison d’Orient Hotel Hanoi

My father and I had a wonderful time at Maison d‘Orient. The staff were unbelievably friendly and courteous, from daily quests, like finding the best local restaurants, to booking a last minute cruise off the more beaten path. The hotel is located in a quiet alley right in the middle of the old quarter, so we were able to discover Hanoi by foot, while also sleeping well at night. Breakfast was tasty and nutritious , with an assortment of local fresh fruit, yoghurt, toast and of course the famous Vietnamese coffee. I would recommend Maison d’Orient to all of my friends, and that’s because of the people who work there. Thank you Miên and Michael for making us feel so welcome!

Our stay at the Matilda Boutique Hotel was fantastic. - The communication in advance was simple and fast. - The location is very central in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. But in the room itself it was incredibly quiet. There was no noise pollution from outside. The room was spotlessly clean and really tastefully decorated. - The breakfast was varied, fresh and of very high quality. - Great service - even on short notice. All in all, one could not be better off at this price. We would go there again any time. I can only warmly recommend it

Tony was an outstanding host from start to end! As soon as I booked, he contacted me to confirm details, offer a driver to pick me up at the airport, and send me some information on some day tours. I took the driver, and would highly recommend it! Air conditioned and nice car for just ~$4 USD more than a taxi. I also opted for the day trip to Nimh Minh (vietnam's largest pagoda and river boat rowing through caves). My guide was Kimi and loved having him as he made the whole group a big family (and I am not a huge fan of tour groups!). The hotel was nice and in a great location for the night market. Lots of things to do and see right nearby. Breakfast was included and the staff at the front desk were very nice and helpful. I would definitely stay again :)

The best part is location, location, and location. It is located very close to the lake. I was really impressed with the staff who were very friendly and helped make many good choices for sightseeing.

As other reviews have said: ADDRESS IN AIRBNB IN WRONG! Actual address for Googel maps is: 32 P. Hàng Bè, Hàng Bạc, Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội, Vietnam. Also only accessible through a cafe & massage parlour - which was not as bad as it seems as they were hardly ever busy & close at around 7pm. The place is very central to old town, with lots very close by! The room was reasonably clean and had a soft comfy bed. Despite being hard to find the location made up for it and was super good value for money! We enjoyed it for our few nights in Hanoi!
