Kinderfreundliche Ferienunterkünfte in Heimaey

We stayed at this lovely little home on the horse farm while visiting Vik and other sights on our spring break trip to Iceland. It was a perfect place for our family of three teenage/young adult kids and nice change from a hotel. We loved seeing the sheep and horses right outside and the glaciers in the distance. Sara was super responsive when we had questions about where to get groceries. House was very well equipped and spotlessly cleaned. We enjoyed cooking breakfast and dinner one evening. We recommend planning ahead for groceries as the nearest town is a little ways away. Great spot for exploring waterfalls, hiking and Westman Islands.

This was a beautiful house and location. We used it as more of a stopover on the way back across the south of the country, but I would have happily stayed here a few days and used it as a base, with a lot of the waterfalls and activities in the area. Gorgeous scenery all around and great for viewing aurora since it’s dark and remote. The house was comfortable, cozy, well supplied. The stairs to the loft are definitely steep, more like a ladder, in case that matters to you, but the upstairs is great with two bedrooms. He was very helpful in advance making sure to send exact directions and a google map for finding it. I hope we return to Iceland and would definitely stay here again.

Our group had an incredible stay! The location was the perfect balance of being wonderfully remote, offering peace and quiet, yet still conveniently close to several attractions. We loved coming back from a day of exploring, knowing we could unwind in such a serene setting. The property had everything we needed, including a fully equipped laundry, which made our stay so much easier. One of the highlights was being able to see the Northern Lights right from the property—an absolutely magical experience! We couldn’t have asked for a better spot and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a mix of adventure and relaxation.

Location was perfect for sightseeing near and far. The airbnb was very comfortable and warm with a well equipped kitchen. Trausti was a great host. I would highly recommend this place.

Our stay at Larus’ accommodation was magical. Such a beautiful and restful setting, we felt relaxed instantaneously. The space was spotless with everything considered. The hot tubs and sauna were wonderful luxuries with the verandas thoughtfully sheltered from the breeze and the kayak’s in the lake which our boys enjoyed. The communication from start to when we left was proactive and clear with Kamil kindly meeting us at the cottages to guide us to the house and show us around. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon.

We couldn’t have loved this place more. One of my favorite I’ve stayed. It was extremely clean and so cozy and Helga was extremely responsive and helpful. We loved every moment. Will definitely recommend to others and be back ourselves!

Kids enjoyed the most because of the PlayStation .We loved the cute radio playing in the morning during breakfast and the coffee machine was perfect ! We were very comfortable in your house . House was perfect for a family of 4. Also loved the attractions folder . We enjoyed the Mexican food from the food truck company and the ice creams from the local shop. Watched a nice movie together last night . Was home away from home . Thanks a lot .

The barn house was beautifully built and decorated with spectacular views. The skylight windows were perfect for watching for the northern lights. The kitchen had all the basics and some extras like a nespresso machine and pods. We enjoyed cooking there and using the hot tub. The washer and dryer were super helpful. It was a great launching place for the Golden Circle. Stokkseyri is a cute little town with a great local pool. The turf house across the street was fun to explore as was the beach on the other side of the turf wall. It is very near Bakkahestar for highly recommended Icelandic horse rides with a local couple on the beach in Eyrarbakki. Nearby Selfoss has anything you need including an amazing fish market Fiskbud Suderlands for great prices on fresh caught local fish. Kristinn was very responsive and we loved our stay!

L’alloggio è piccolo ma molto accogliente e moderno. Abbiamo trovato tutto quello di cui avevamo bisogno. Inoltre, si trova in un contesto stupendo, da una parte le montagne innevate e dall’altra l’oceano. Sembrava di essere immersi in un posto magico! L’host ci ha accolti con il sorriso e oltre che a darci il benvenuto, ci ha dato alcuni consigli sulla zona. Esperienza indimenticabile, e perché no , speriamo di tornarci! Chiara e Francesco

We had a wonderful stay. The studio apartment is large, clean, private and comfortable, and located in a very peaceful but convenient area. Octavian was a very friendly host and we were welcomed with some fresh fruit and treats which was very kind. The apartment was well equipped for cooking. It is walking distance to Skogafoss and Kvernufoss which is very convenient. We would highly recommend a stay!

Das Haus war super zu finden und ist sehr schön eingerichtet. Wir waren zu dritt unterwegs und haben sehr gut geschlafen und uns wie Zuhause gefühlt. Das Bad war sauber und die Küche war einwandfrei zu benutzen. Wir hatten eine gute Zeit.

My friends and I really enjoyed our stay here. It was clean and well located. Everything we needed (e.g. salt, oil and even washing tabs) was available to us. Our beds were prepared for us and everything was in great condition. Thank you for having us.

This restful Airbnb was tucked away in a small Icelandic town, with no traffic lights and ocean front view. You could hear and see seabirds just south of the house, and the beach was an easy walk away. We even saw the northern lights on two evenings! The beds were new and very comfortable, and the shower and bathroom worked well. It was very nice to have a large refrigerator and freezer space for our meals, as it was a small town with limited stores and restaurants. He gives very good directions on finding his place after you reach Eyrarbakki. We would definitely stay there again, and Dana was a delightful host.

This place was excellent. The host was awesome, greeted us when we arrived, showed us around, and gave some friendly advice about the trip we are on. 10/10.

Really nice place to stay in Selfoss! Not a commercial apartment but rather a place that Irena and her family actually stay - really warm, cozy, and spacious! You can find everything you need; also a great place for kids!

Comfortable, great place to stay in beautiful surroundings. It was a great location for the things we wanted to visit in the area. Easy to check in and access - very clean - comfortable stay.

It was wonderful to stay at Arna's family second home. Great hostess. My first nice Airbnb experience. This apartment is very well situated and close to a lot of sights. The town of Selfoss is charming and easy to walk.. Highly recommend staying at her place. You will love this place. Very nice indeed. Thank you Arna. :-)

Wonderful place to stay! If you value a quiet private setting this place is perfect! A bit of a drive from other sites but we liked that it was more remote. It was still an easy drive to vik for the day. The pools and steam room made it a really special place to unwind.

Our family of four stayed 6 days at Margret’s apartment. It was equipped with everything we needed - the small commodities like coffee and tea bags, salt and pepper were very nice to see. The local sweets left by the host were a nice gesture too :). The apartment was spacious enough for the 4 of us to stay comfortably. The host is extremely responsive. All of my messages were responded to within minutes. When I mentioned that the kettle wasn't working on the evening of our first day, it was left by the door early next day. There were some crumbs on the wardrobe shelves and some dog hair (I think) in some places but that didn't bother us. We just cleaned it with the available equipment and detergents. We'd definitely stay there again if we were returning to Iceland.

Great tiny apartment. It's on a residential area but close to different attractions and a supermarket.

Great stay! Wish the weather wasnt so cloudy during our visit, we never did see the aurora outside our bedroom window. Maybe next time! Fun to watch the horses playing at the house across from the airbnb. And great location for food , Selfoss is very reachable, good center location for driving around to see Icelandic sightseeing
