Amazing little getaway spot in the UP. I’m from more of the west end of the upper peninsula so I don’t spend enough time in Houghton area. I actually Zillowed nearby properties and maybe in the future when I finish my doctorate this beautiful area of Dollar Bay may be home. Definitely will stay again if okay with wonderful host Jen. 💕❄️🌊

We enjoyed our stay. The home had everything we needed and lots of entertainment when our grandchildren visited. We definitely felt right at home. The views were wonderful, we even had some deer and wild turkeys visit the yard. We look forward to booking again in the future.

We had a lovely time in the UP, we enjoyed access to a full kitchen, ample space, and the sauna made us feel like real “yupers” after a full day of skiing.

The house was exactly as pictured. One of the few stays where I was able to cook breakfasts and dinners and had everything I needed. The main family room with the fireplace was cozy and relaxing. We typically chose the places we stay for the sauna and this one was one of the best. It heated up quickly and steamed well. The lake view was amazing with peak color and close to fun outdoorsy things we love when in the UP.

All I can say is WOW! I would not hesitate to rent this place if I were ever in the area again. The kitchen is so well stocked with anything you could possibly need and more (coffee, tea, spices, popcorn). The hosts have really gone above and beyond in providing so many little "extras" that are really appreciated. We were there for a Michigan Tech graduation and we received a very nice card, balloon and bottle of sparkling juice. Everything was super clean and tidy and communication from the hosts is top notch. Thanks for an amazing stay!

Beautiful historic lake front home with plenty of space for my family. Comfortable and filled with history as outlined in write up about the home's origins and previous owners. We enjoyed beautiful sunrises each morning of our springtime stay. Great communication from Paul making this a great experience!

Daniel’s place was easily one of the best places we have stayed. It was beautifully decorated and we felt so at home! There was so many extra things provided for snow shoeing and a foosball table. There was an instruction manual available and very clear instructions. We really enjoyed the arctic entry way (from Alaska lol) so that’s what they are called, but catches snow and boots etc before entering the home. Everything we needed was provided included extra large towels and the pillows and beds/blankets were all so comfortable! It meets every need and want in a home away from home! Most airbnbs don’t meet every need like this one.

We loved staying at Kyle’s place! The host was responsive and provided clear instructions and suggestions. The house was very clean and spacious, and had everything we needed. There was plenty of comfortable seating - loved the porch and outdoor space. The mattress was super comfortable, which is important to my old bones after a day of hiking/exploring! We were only two people, but you could easily accommodate a large family or group and have plenty of room! We loved the remote waterfront location, it was so quiet and peaceful. We explored the Baraga County area (recommend the Lake and County tour), easily made day trips east to the Michigamme area and west to the Keweenaw and to Houghton for a MTU football game. We even got to see the Northern Lights right from the yard! It was a great time and we are already talking about coming back!

I have only absolutely wonderful things to say about our stay here! The location, on the shore of Lake superior, near Mt Bohemia but also near to other attractions was fantastic. The house itself is lovely as is the sauna house. I have never stayed in an airbnb so well appointed. The decor was lovely, nice bedding, games, books, etc. The kitchen was better stocked with pans etc than my own. It was perfect for many lovely family meals. We had an incredible stay! I hope we will come back many times in the future! Thank you!

Barry and Carol are incredible hosts. The place is exactly what my dad and I needed for our yearly trip to the UP. We got a flat tire and Barry and Carol were beyond helpful. I thought it was going to ruin our trip but turned into a 30 min drive with a spare, and one of the best Pasties I’ve had which was a win. Thanks again.

We visited for a weekend skiing trip at Mont Ripley. Shannon's place was clean, quiet, and the perfect size for our family of four. The location is just what we were looking for, away from the hustle and bustle of Houghton and Hancock but just a short drive to Mont Ripley and restaurants. Just a word of caution, the road leading to the cabin is rural, and during our three day visit we received about 8 inches of snow and it was never plowed. We didn't have any issues getting in and out, but four wheel drive is probably required on snowy weekends.

Philip is an awesome host and the cottage was delightful. He puts a lot of attention into the details and it shows! We lacked for nothing and he was responsive to our special requests. I can’t wait to come back with my kids and put some kayaks on the bay during the late summer. Highly recommend!

We have stayed at Gail’s other rentals before and they have all been excellent. She’s flexible and easy to work with, and provides a clean place to call home for a few days. We will be staying again in the future!

This cozy, clean and quiet place right on Lake Superior is simply wonderful. Had access to everything we needed. And what a perfect week of sunshine and good weather to enjoy all that the area and house has to offer. Thank you and I can not wait to come back!!

Carol's place had everything we needed for a great trip to the Keweenaw. Check in was easy and the place was clean.

This is a wonderful house for a base to explore the Keweenaw Peninsula. It is in a very quiet location overlooking a gorgeous bay with amazing sunrises. All amenities were as listed and worked well...especially the internet. The beds were very comfortable. There were more than enough dishes, etc. Jodi was very responsive and accommodating when a minor problem occurred. We particularly enjoyed our tour of the Quincy Copper Mine. We found a fresh fish store about 20 miles south (Freddy's) and Petersons across from the mine (20 miles north).

This was the perfect spot for my family. We had lots to do in the cold, snowy weather both outside as well as indoors. The location is beautiful, the house gorgeous and very clean and comfortable.

Such a private and relaxing location. Our last two nights we even saw the aurora over Gratiot Lake! Make sure if cloudy days are forecasted you conserve power! We had no difficulty utilizing the amenities and when we had questions Rebecca was responsive and helpful! The roads in are sand/gravel so we would recomend using a vehicle with high clearance. We had a wonderful stay here!

Great stay, the cabin was well appointed an as described. Beautiful lake views and wonderful star gazing. We arrived at night and it was a little bit difficult to find our way around the back of the house to the entry point in the dark but we made it in. Very quiet and peaceful.

Lovely large place right on the lake w/ great views. Four bathrooms, four bedrooms, lots of bunks. Two large beds. Big kitchen. Big TV. Close to Mt. Bohemia for skiing abd hot tub sauna, and closer still to Calumet for the Nordic ski race - the great bear chase. Good times!

The cabin was perfect for my son and I on our snowmobiling adventure. 24 foot enclosed trailer and we had no issues getting situated. Trail #3 was right across the street. We will make this our go to accommodations for future riding in the Keweenaw!!!

My boyfriend and I came to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life and this was a really beautiful retreat! Even more beautiful than the pictures with a great view, bliss shores was perfect for our needs! Breanna, our host was super responsive and attentive to us. Lovely people with a lovely home. Would absolutely recommend!

This was our first visit to the Keweenaw. Becca was a fantastic host, the community was wonderful, and the scenery and beaches are beautiful. The sauna was a pleasant way to heat up between Lake Superior swims. Great hiking and bicycle trails in the county as well. Check out the Douglas Houghton waterfall if you are a capable hiker.
