Richard Flavin's "Washi House", Saitama Pref.

Welcome to Richard Flavin's Washi House! Richard Flavin (1943–2020) was a Japanese paper artist originally from the US. He studied design in Boston and came to Japan in 1970. He later studied woodblock printing and developed a deep interest in the production of washi. He also cultivated the raw material for washi paper, paper mulberry. We invite those interested in washi paper and art to stay overnight and enjoy this space, reminiscent of a washi paper museum, including these unfinished areas.

Experience an unique and unforgettable Japanese traditional home at the city centre of Kawagoe where it is well known for its old clay warehouses and merchant homes, called Kurazukuri.【Kuranoyado Masuya】is the only place you can stay in a traditional clay warehouses that was built about 130 years ago and designated as Landscape Importance Building. Located at the walking distance from the most famous sightseeing spots such as Kuradukuri zone(old storehouse zone), Toki-no-kane, Hikawa Shrine etc.

100 year old Japanese house for rent

English-speaking staff is available. This is an old private house built more than 100 years ago, surrounded by rice paddies. It is a quiet and peaceful place to stay as it is easily accessible to major sightseeing spots and there are few tourists. Please use it as a transit point for your trip. 1 hour to Tokyo by train 2 hours to Nikko by train 45 minutes to Kawagoe by car Staff will pick you up at the nearest station. This hotel is run by a farmer. If you wish, you can experience farming.

Koeda House is just a 3-minute walk from Fuda Station and 6 minutes from Chofu Station. Direct buses run between Chofu and Haneda & Narita Airports and Tokyo Disney Resort. From Chofu, it’s just 4 stops(18 minutes) to Shinjuku by express train and 22 minutes to Shibuya. A calm, green area with convenient access to Shinjuku. I’m originally from Kyoto and have lived in this area for many years. As a local host living nearby, I’m always happy to be there if you need any help during your stay.

2024年7月にデザイナーによるリフォームをした、山中湖から徒歩11分の別荘地にある 「プライベートリゾート 富士」 という一日一組限定の宿です。 延床面積115㎡、3LDK のログハウスを基調とした和モダンデザイン一軒家で、 ２階にあがると、リビングの窓から大きな富士山を望むことができ、富士山をバックに大きなバルコニーでBBQをしたり、木々に囲まれたバレルサウナを満喫した後には、そのまま外の休憩スペースで森林浴をしたりと、していただけます。庭には、大きな焚き火台があり、火を囲んで語らうこともできます。また、庭には高めの柵を設置しているため、愛犬を連れてきても逃げてしまう心配はございません。 部屋には90インチの大型スクリーンがあり、Prime Video、Youtube などが楽しめます。夜には、条件が良ければ満天の星空も見ることができます。
