Deep Sea World, The Wee Restaurant fine dining, Rankin's Cafe and the small Lighthouse Museum only a short walk away and there is a small shop near the station.

Portobello Beach is 15 minute walk away which is a must see especially with kids they will love it in all weathers. Buses (every 10 minutes) stop at end of the street to city centre which takes about 15/20 minutes. Co-op, post office, and various takeaways at end of street. Take it easy at this unique and tranquil get away overlooking Pettycur Bay with panoramic views of the Firth of Forth towards the Forth Bridge and to the port of Leith and Edinburgh. Pettycur Bay is a great location for relaxing on the beach, wild swimming, walking the Fife Coastal Path or exploring all that Fife and Edinburgh have to offer the visitor. You may even spot dolphins, seals or the occasional puffin as you look out across the water.

Relax in our beautiful cottage with fantastic views, log burning stove, super king size bed and large walk in shower. Whether you want to be active or just relax, Howden Cottage is a great base to enjoy all the delights of East Lothian. If you want a trip to Edinburgh it's about a 45 minute drive or you can drive to the local station - about 8 minutes away and take the train which is 25 minutes. Parking at the station is free.
