Welcome to "Cabin on Swede Hill". Our family has farmed this land since 1871. My great grandparents, Swan and Johanna Johnson immigrated to America in the 1860's, found this land which was similar to Sweden. They raised their family here. Approximately 65 Swedish families settled in this community, became to be know as the "Swede Hills". We just received the Hoosier Homestead Award from Indiana celebrating the Sesquicentennial Award. The front deck of this tiny, elegant, getaway home overlooks a meadow, pond and forest area where native ducks, song birds and wildlife are common. This clean, beautiful, newer ranch home, has an open floor plan, and is found in a quiet neighborhood, conveniently located 8 miles from Notre Dame and 3.5 miles from the SB Airport. We've prepared an intentionally organized kitchen and bathrooms for a full house, as well as carefully selected beds to rest easy. The dining room opens up to an outdoor deck and fire pit to enjoy Indiana's seasonal outdoors.

There is a queen sized bed and a sofa, NOT sofa bed in the sitting room. This cottage built in 1912. Private and cozy, the cottage has a big screen TV, wifi and a gourmet kitchen. The owner lives almost directly behind and is available and happy to assist. Chapin Park's tree-lined, brick streets and diverse historic architecture are charming. No smoking.
