Silk Purse Cottage (ca. 1920) is in scenic, historic Chester County, PA 6 miles from the PA turnpike. It is a completely renovated, private cottage on a 6 acre property. Perfect spot for a relaxing vacation. Visitors who are interested in gardening, history and outdoor activities will find many opportunities close by. Hike, fish, go boating or mountain biking one mile away at Marsh Creek State Park. Longwood Gardens, Winterthur, Lancaster and Philadelphia are all a short distance by car.

Come here for the feel of a secluded getaway, while staying close to the city. To get to the house, turn off the road onto a quiet cul de sac. Walk through the garden on a path up to the front porch. The back half acre is a lovely scene of green -- grass and bamboo and trees -- which can be enjoyed from the kitchen table. Quick drives to Downtown Wayne, King of Prussia Mall, and Valley Forge National Park. Just a couple minute drive to 202 to get to the city.

The Millhaus

This is the original "tiny house." Built in 1766, the Millhaus sits on a 32-acre historic site with the Knauer Mill, Horseshoe Trail, and French Creek. Take a short hike along the water's edge to Saint Peter’s Village for coffee & pastries, or dinner & drinks. Overlooking beautiful pastures, the cottage was formerly the large painting studio of Delaware Valley artist Peter Sculthorpe.
