Ferienunterkünfte am Wasser in Mangōnui

I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful and peaceful Airbnb! The location was serene, surrounded by nature, making it the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The space was clean, thoughtfully decorated, and had everything I needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay.

One of the things that’s hard about finding a place in a new place is the sense of relative distances. We were further outside of town than we had expected, but man was it worth it. The views down to the bay were spectacular. And being from the northern hemisphere, the night sky is of particular interest. We were lucky with high pressure, so being just far enough outside of town gave us breathtaking star gazing. Jo was so helpful in making suggestions for places to see, quickly able to help us prioritize based on the way we roll, a good mix of walking and driving, a wonderful resource and real hospitality pro. Already looking forward to our next visit.

We couldn’t believe that the apartment was all ours! We didn’t need all the room. There was enough kitchen stuff to easily cook dinner and our view was better than any restaurant in town. Very comfortable king bed and our car was in a garage.

Lovely place nestled in the hills of Russell. Little drive into the main town but nice relaxed area. Place was spacious. There are a few other rooms but not really an issue. Views are great.

Absolutely stunning Airbnb, one of if not the best we’ve ever stayed in (we’re doing a round the world trip so have stayed in a lot by now)! It was absolutely pristine, we felt like we were checking into a 5* hotel with the quality of the beds, linens, towels etc. It is genuinely nicer than the photos and more spacious, and it was so appreciated that Anita had some provisions and snacks like milk, chocolates, crisps and fruit there for us when we arrived. Anita is lovely and so friendly! She kindly greeted us at check in, showed us around and how everything works, and gave us some fantastic local recommendations which we did and thoroughly enjoyed, in particular the coastal trail to Paihia and getting the car ferry across the bay to go to Russell. The views over the bay, watching the boats come and go, are stunning. We didn’t use the BBQ that’s on the balcony but would have if we’d stayed longer, which I wish we had! Overall we couldn’t fault this place, and HIGHLY recommend staying

An absolute dream house! Stunning apartment with a gorgeous view. You definitely feel like spending a holiday with style :) Breakfast at Seaside restaurant are mind blowing! Best coffee in town. Plus! You get a discount :) We had the best time there. Will definitely recommend and we will repeat! Thanks!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Waimiro. The apartment is spacious, well-planned and equipped - also modern and spotless with the most stunning sea views. It was a joy to immerse ourselves into this peaceful location from the deck, be it on the relaxing lounger or with drinks at the table. Jane provided an expansive and useful welcome pack including visitor recommendations. We really enjoyed our day walking along the beach into Paihia, taking the foot ferry to Russell, climbing to the outlook at Flagstaff Hill, swimming at Long Beach - winding up with a fish and chip finale on the beach back at Paihia! Last but not least, Jane is the perfect host; welcoming, interesting, warm and helpful. Our sincere thanks to her and Dave. Our one regret is that we couldn't stay longer.

We truly loved this place. The ocean and hills under the overcast sky held a quiet, misty beauty, as if we had stepped into a serene ink painting. The room was warm and cozy, and from the bed, we could gaze out at the distant shoreline and listen to the whispers of the wind. There are many great restaurants nearby, just a short drive away. Time here seemed to drift by slowly and gently.

Beautiful and well equipped Bach in a peaceful and tranquil place. Stone throw away from the beach. Thank you very much to our friendly hosts (Chloe and Ben) for letting us rent this gorgeous house.

A great place to stay with fabolous views over the bay. Marion is a great host with amazing local knowledge and happy to share, opportunity not to be missed. location is great, needs relative fitness to walk up the hill.

A harbour-side view is a great get away perfect — peaceful water views, the sound of boats rocking and bush walks .

This house is beautifully situated right on the water - at high tide the water reaches the wall. The house is beautifully decorated and feels very homey. With a log fire, a separate granny flat and 3 other good sized bedrooms, we loved our stay here. Would definitely recommend.

Neil war immer erreichbar und hat alle Fragen beantwortet. Wir waren viel zu kurz dort und konnten daher nicht in den Genuss kommen alles zu nutzen, haben uns aber gleich wohl und geborgen gefühlt. Die Aussicht morgens ist unschlagbar schön. Und wunderschön ruhig ist es…Super zum entschleunigen 🙂 Danke Neil

Lovely place to stay. Very well equipped. Great for family group of 3 generations. Great views from all rooms and always something happening on estuary. Pool table, spa , pizza oven and kayaks provided great variety of options. Highly recommend

A lovely home with everything you need for a relaxing holiday. Come for the home stay for the view! A spectacular vista, from the Whiria Pa, across the harbour to the golden sand dunes. Also, a great selection of books to while away the hours 🙂 We had the generous bonus of using the down stairs spa as there were no guests. perfect!

Unique location above the marina. It was great to spend time on the deck watching the comings and goings of all the boats. The place was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. The Marina Cafe across the carpark had great meals that we ate there two nights in a row. Thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

For a winter break it really was perfect. Best spot ever. The best part....The people! Friendly, helpful. Kind. Every eatery was great. Op shop for fishing clothes too! Had great fishing with " Buckos" Dont miss it! Will return. Thankyou. BnM

Linda is a very responsive and helpful host and the place is very comfortable and well-equipped. Lots of little extras made us feel right at home.

Fabulous hosts, lovely accommodation. We stayed for three nights, and all loved it including our puppy. If we didn't have to be back home for things, we would've extended our stay by a couple more nights. I'm sure we will be back again though. Thanks for the lovely stay
