It was a great place. We walked into a clean and cozy house. Beautiful beach area right on the river. Enjoyed a good meal at the Pointe down the road. We would stay again!

Alfie’s place was cozy and roomy all at the same time. We immediately felt at home, with natural light pouring in from every direction and views of the water. Bed was comfy, lots of space to hang things and store your bags without being in the way. It’s also a great location in town with easy walking access to everything. Only downside is the bathroom was a bit small, but there was a full length mirror in the main room which helped for getting ready. Alfie was a very welcoming host, and gave clear instructions for check in and check out, making the entire process worry-free. We would definitely stay again!

Sometimes you need a break from the hustle and bustle of the city and that’s exactly what JPs place offers. We absolutely loved the design of the cottage and the property is beautiful and private. A big storm came through and knocked out power, but the onsite generator kicks in immediately to ensure you’re covered. Close to town when needed, but secluded enough to relax and unwind. The claw foot tub and rain shower are fantastic, and the fireplace and seating in the living room made for cozy evenings. The cottage has everything you’d need to cook great meals in the beautiful kitchen. We’ll definitely be back in the future.

We had a great time. The place was well equipped and very cozy. We were very impressed on the cleanliness of the place. We had a great time as a family and are thankful for the hospitality we received. We highly recommend this place and hoping to go back soon.

We fell in love with this beach house over the course of a month, and we are so grateful for Trevor's patience and attention to detail. The house has everything, clean kitchen and bathroom, up to date appliances, and most importantly, a view so beautiful that watching the clouds roll in every day cured all worries. Loved Trevor's house and will be back for my next vacation!

Even more spacious and gorgeous than the photos. The amount of private, lovely, wooded, property around the chalet is astonishing. Gorgeous big Canadian Shield rocks adorn the landscape and the River access is perfect. Nice touches and amenities abound. Everything looks - and is — comfortable, high end and well maintained. The many cool and stylish and thoughtful touches makes this place a treasure. The fireplaces in & out are well stocked and well maintained. The tub surrounded by nature is heaven. A relaxation paradise. Felt like Spa Nordic without the crowds! Can’t say enough about this beautiful spot!!

Magnifique propriété, calme et privée. La vue sur le pont couvert de Wakefield est tout simplement splendide ! Nous avons particulièrement apprécié la grande quantité de fenêtres et la luminosité de la salle de séjour. Le spacieux balcon et le bruit apaisant de l’eau qui coule ont également ajouté à la sérénité du lieu. En tant qu’amateur de vintage, d’antiquités et de récupération, j’ai été ravi par le mobilier : tout est magnifique ! Nous avons également profité du spa à plusieurs reprises. Ce séjour était exactement ce dont nous avions besoin pour des vacances reposantes, et nous avons atteint notre objectif! Quelques ajustements mineurs pourraient être envisagés pour améliorer encore l'expérience, mais c'est un travail de perfectionnement pour l'avenir.

Nous avons adoré notre séjour dans le chalet de Dan. La communication avec lui a été rapide et agréable — il s’est montré très arrangeant et nous a donné d’excellents conseils. Le chalet est parfaitement équipé : la cuisine contient tout le nécessaire, et nous avons particulièrement apprécié la machine à espresso. La salle de bain est bien aménagée, et les lits sont très confortables. Le salon, lumineux et chaleureux, est un endroit idéal pour lire ou se détendre. Le chalet est impeccable, bien situé, et offre une ambiance paisible. Les enfants ont adoré le pédalo, et nous avons aussi beaucoup profité du feu sur le deck en écoutant de la musique. Une expérience mémorable que nous recommandons vivement ! Merci Dan!

A perfect place to stay while visiting family. Very well appointed Airbnb and although I didn’t prepare any meals there, the kitchen had all the items needed to do so. Meredith kindly had water, juice and other items in the fridge available. The space is perfect for a single person or couple. It’s situated right on the river and has a beautiful outdoor space. The bathroom has a wonderful shower with plenty of hot water and the bed was very comfortable with nice linens. Robes and chocolate on the bed were a very nice touch. Meredith was very friendly and prompt in responding. It was the perfect place to stay. Probably one of the best Airbnb’s I’ve stayed in. Thank you Meredith and when I’m back in Almonte I’ll definitely stay again!!
