School Bus living in Nature

Enjoy a stay in a 1973 converted school bus that has all the comforts of home and touches of luxury. Self-contained accommodation for two in the bushveld with magnificent views and the sounds of nature. All of this is situated in agricultural lands, 15 minutes away from the centre of Nelspruit. The hosts have 4 large dogs that are well socialised and enjoy meeting new people. The property is a self-sustaining homestead where the hosts grow their own vegetables, farm honey and produce eggs.

Bushwhacked, Barberton (The Woodshed)

The Woodshed is ideally placed only an hour's drive from The Kruger National Park or the closest border into E'Swatini (Swaziland). In the foothills of the World Heritage listed Makonjwa Mountains with their 3.6 Billion year old Geological history. Scenic drives and hiking are nearby. The historic 1884 Goldrush town of Barberton is just a 2km walk away. Gold mining tours and panning are available and the area still has 7 working gold mines. Fresh air, great views, peace, quiet, privacy.

Timmerstuga

The free standing wooden cottage, Timmerstuga, (Swedish translation for wooden cottage) has been built in this Scandinavian style and decorated in a similar minimalist style. The house has a separate entrance for guests. Guests have access to two en-suite bedrooms, one with a queen size bed with shower and a second with two three-quarter beds with bathtub. The self-catering kitchen has a kettle, toaster and coffee machine as well as a convection microwave oven. The patio has a gas BBQ.

Affordable guest suite on the doorstep of Kruger

The Mozambique guest suite is located in a farming community situated 5km out of town. It comprises of a fully furnished, air conditioned unit with free Wi-Fi. The unit has a queen bed, open plan kitchenette, living area and private bathroom. The unit is best suited for short-term stays. The entrance and parking are shared with the main house, with private access to the unit. The neighbourhood is quiet and secure. Laundry services and housekeeping can be arranged at an additional cost.

Uitpak

Afpak is a lovely self-catering rondawel located on a private farm outside Barberton, The rondawel features 2 traditional round-shaped rooms, typically constructed from natural local materials such as stone, wood, or clay. Each room has an en-suite shower and toilet and a comfortable queen-size bed, pillows, and linen. Fan, smart box, and TV are also provided, Space to work, FREE Wifi and basic kitchen and braai area. Rondawel will be perfect for reps, 2 couples or a family.

Kruger House

Enjoy this newly renovated house only 6 minutes away from the world famous Kruger National Park. Get the local experience with local restaurants such as Hamiltons and enjoy their well known Maroela jam. Go for night drives and see what else the Kruger has to offer. Another personal favorite of mine is a breakfast barbecue in the Kruger. If you really want to have the true Low-veld experience head over to Hazyview only 30 minutes away and do some white water rafting.

Artist's Attic Self Catering Cottage

Welcome to Artist's Attic, a gentle retreat perfect as a weekend getaway and as a base for the Kruger National Park or exploring the Lowveld. Both airy and cosy, Artist's Attic was designed by my architect husband, Josef, and is filled with artwork by myself as well as friends and family. Artist's attic is perfect for a family of 4, as it has a large mezzanine bedroom and an open-plan downstairs with a kitchen and 2 single beds.

If you love nature, flowers, the bees and the trees, the birds and butterflies, a neat and comfort place to stay at reasonable price, only 3kms from the Malelane Gate into the Kruger National Park, this is the place! For the keen Birder and Photographer you can spot at least 10 species from the comfort of the veranda. The main attraction is our rehabilitated Lessor Bushbaby Hopper, King of this Castle. Cute is an understatement!
