We really enjoyed staying at the golden hour! The hosts were very responsive and helpful! They had sound machines in every bedroom which if you have kids is a big deal. The toys and kids activities there were a big hit! The pools are pristine and the whole outdoor area is very nice! Very short walk to beach which was also convenient! They literally thought of everything, if you forgot something chances are they had it! Definitely recommend staying here if you have children and want a nice low key place to stay!

We were in town to visit family nearby and the location was perfect. We did not spend much time at the house but in the evening had a chance to try out the hot tub, which was wonderful, and everything was clean. If you hear music out of nowhere, there is a clock that chimes a song- it is not the ice cream man or Alexa going rogue lol. Adam was helpful ahead of the trip and responsive. He left very thorough instructions and recommendations for us. There were lots of pillows for the bed and we found the mattress comfortable (I was nervous from a few reviews about it being too firm). Frankie was often hanging near the entrances and front bushes, so just be mindful when opening the doors that she may want to sneak in. Overall, great stay!

Incredible views of the water. Sunrise is beautiful. Dolphins swim by. Hot tub and fire pit are fabulous. Our hosts were extremely responsive and helpful, friendly, and proactive. Our family had a great time at their home.

Highly Recommend! My first time in Norfolk and I almost don’t want others to know about this place because it will be booked whenever I want to return. Peacefully neighbor and safe for women solo-traveler. The backyard is a dream and everything works great inside the home.

This place is amazing! We can't wait to come back! Absolutely stunning home a block from a beautiful beach. More than enough room for my family of 5; would also be a great place for 2 families to share. So much outdoor space - beautiful sunsets on the porch and great stargazing! House is super clean and had everything we needed. Hosts were very communicative and friendly. This was our first stay in Sandbridge and we really enjoyed the convenience to everything - great restaurants nearby, ice cream, shopping, etc. Can't wait to come back and spend more time exploring the area. Five stars ++++! We'll be back!

This is not a beach house, it's a beach palace! It was actually bigger than we expected. The place was super clean, well maintained, furniture in great condition, new grill and fully equipped for max fun: a kayak, a canoe, puzzles, board games, beach toys for the kids and so much more. Becky was super nice. A 10/10 experience, we'll try to go back next year!

We had a wonderful stay at the Great Escape. The home was very clean and comfortable with plenty of space. The amenities were perfect and the beach is just a short walk with easy access. Cody was a wonderful host with quick responses. Thank you for sharing your home. We made wondrful memories in Virgina Beach.

My husband and I spent a week at the beach cottage. The location is unbeatable, just steps to the beach. If you are not fond of the sand, you can sit in the porch and enjoy the view. You will not want to leave! The house was clean and exactly as pictured. Cecilio and his wife answered promptly all of my questions about places to eat and things to do. If you enjoy fishing, the Ocean View pier (longest in the State of Virginia) is just a half a mile walk from the house, or a short drive. You can rent fishing poles, buy bait, and feel like a local. You can also get some crab traps and get blue crabs. The pier has a restaurant with a nice view and a full bar. The beach right outside the house feels private. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a good book. If you like water activities, the cottage has plenty of beach gear, including paddle boarding, and kayaks. We wanted to relax and reconnect, and this place was the perfect spot for us. Highly recommended.

Really enjoyed our stay. We will definitely be back. Airbnb was central and just a stone throw to the beach. We had a toddler and it was very safe and comfortable. We brought a travel crib but they did have one actually in the closet for us which was excellent, coffee was great also. Went for dinner at the Willoughby fish house which was 5 minutes away and really enjoyed it! I absolutely recommend this stay and I imagine we will book again.

Everything was wonderful, easy to get in, and our host John was very helpful and friendly. Hotub was clean no trash in the yards felt just like home. comfortable beds the walkway to the beach was very private enjoyed that as well. Overall our stay was amazing and would love to be able to stay there again. We had so much fun <3 provided us with some detergent to wash clothes I thought that was thoughtful.

Cozy and peaceful spot right by the beach. John was very welcoming and proactive in making sure the property was always well-maintained. We enjoyed our stay!
