Find Hurst Cottage on the corner of a leafy green country road, in the village of Biddulph in Staffordshire, boasting large gardens and bursting with character inside and out, you will have an amazing time getting to know this lovely area.The property lends itself well to families and couples because of the open space and many nooks and crannies to explore, with the small river running through part of the garden making it truly unique.Park up the car and head down the stone steps, to the main door, and make your way into the lovely kitchen which is home to pretty pale blue cabinets and a wood counter tops, giving the room a classic cottage feel.A woodburning stove sits in the middle of the exposed red brick wall, and is accessible from the other side in the dining area, alongside a large grey stone feature wall where the original fireplace would have been years ago.This dining area has large windows with views out to the river down below, and with the windows open on a summer day, you can listen to the sound of the water flowing, while the birds sing in the trees.More incredible stonework features on the walls of the sitting room, containing sofas and chairs for you to make yourself comfy in, and why not have a chilled film night using the widescreen TV for those quiet evenings in.Upstairs there is a modern bathroom suite and next door is the master bedroom, adorned with solid wood furniture and a TV, while the second bedroom is twin.To the outside where you’ll hopefully be able to spend a lot of time (if the weather behaves!) you’ll find a bubbling hot tub, set into the decking looking over the rest of the beautiful garden, which stretches on for what seems like forever!Take a minute to discover this fairytale-esque garden; cross the little bridge over the river, run in between the shrubbery.The local area offers some great day out opportunities, like visiting Biddulph Grange, a National Trust owned house and landscaped gardens, with the gardens divided into many areas based on their influences around the world, or take a walk up to Mow Cop Castle, a hilltop stone tower, set on the ridge that forms the boundary between the counties Cheshire and Staffordshire.Day trips over to Chester, Liverpool or Manchester could be on the cards being all within an hour and a half drive away, so if you're not often in this area of the UK, head over to one of these bustling cities that all have so much to offer.Enjoy your holiday in a property full of character and interesting features like Hurst Cottage, and you will make beautiful memories.

Cosy country house perfect for long country walks, sitting by the fire and getting away from it all. Close to the pictureque and popular town of Leek, access to the Peak District and 13 miles to Alton Towers.
Kitchen - complete with plates, bowls, cups, cutlery, kitchen utensils, washing machine, fridge, cooker and hob. Everything you need to cook for yourselves. Real fire with logs for you to use. Lounge - TV, DAB radio, bluetooth speaker, electric stove. Bedroom 1 - Double bed, plenty of wardrobe space and drawers. Ensuite shower room to bedroom 1 with shower and sink Bedroom 2 - One double with single bunk bed above, wardrobe and desk. Ideal for kids or for two adults sharing. Bathroom - Bath with over shower, sink and toilet. Outside - there is parking space at the front of the house. At the rear there is a pretty garden with lawn, flower beds, and benches to sit and enjoy the quiet.
Cheddleton Health is a small hamlet on the edge of Cheddleton and Leek. Our house is positioned towards the end of a small and very quiet cul-de-sac, off a lane. From the house there are walks to St. Edwards, where there are park areas and walks through woods. Or drop down through the field to the canal, where there are miles of pathways in both directions. A few minutes walk away you can also board a steam train at the Churnett Valley Railway, or visit the Cheddleton Flint Mill. In the village you will find the Red Lion, Black Lion and Boat Inn, all serving drinks and food. Alongside the canal you will also find Castros, a highly rated Mexican restaurant, and Oceans, serving irresistible waffles. The pictureques market town of Leek is 10 minutes by car. Here you will find supermarkets, restaurants and cafes. There is a popular street market and an indoor "Butter Market" held during the week. Leek is famed for its many independant pubs, serving in total over 85 types of different beers! The area is located on the edge of the Peak District and within 20 minutes you can be walking in the enchanting Roaches rock outcrops, wandering down one of Dales, or hiring a bike to cycle along one of the many cycling trails. Stoke on Trent is 20 minutes away with its historic potteries museums for example the Gladstone Pottery Museum or the World of Wedgewood, or take a stroll through the beautifully restored Trentham Gardens. In Stoke you will also find the Water World indoor water park. Alton Towers is also just 13 miles away.

Our self contained studio accommodation, is located in the garden area of the property and features a lovely view of our garden. It is perfect for guests seeking a comfortable and private base to enjoy and explore the beautiful Staffordshire Moorlands, Peak District & Alton Towers. There are 3 local country pubs serving food (walking distance) Fishing pool & recreation ground.
Montana annex is accessed by a private front entrance door and features open plan studio layout. The fitted kitchen includes, integrated fridge, combination microwave, toaster, kettle, two ring electric hob, kitchen utensils as well as pots & pans, tea and coffee. The separate bathroom includes shower, toilet, vanity basin and heated towel rail, including towels. The bedroom area has a comfortable double bed providing 4 drawer storage in the base. There is also a wall unit with hangers for other clothes and coats. The lounge area includes a television and double sofa bed, with double bedding. There is also an option for a single fold away bed & bedding if that is preferred to the double or a travel cot with full bedding if required. Whatever combination of options are required, we can tailor things to suit your needs for a maximum number of four guests. A window blind and curtain provides complete privacy for guests. Key box/safe entry is available for both self check-in and check-out, allowing flexible arrival time and self check in.
Dilhorne is a historic coal-mining farming village in Staffordshire. The village has excellent public footpaths, recreation ground, fishing pool and church dating back to the Norman Conquest.

Owls Loft is a self contained holiday cottage with a private outdoor seating area and paddock. In a tranquil, rural setting, with views of the Cheshire Plain, this is a great place to recharge your batteries. It is well located to visit the Peak District, or get the train into Manchester from Macclesfield or Congleton. There are a number of National Trust properties within easy reach, as well as Alton Towers, Chatsworth House, the antique shops of Leek and the pottery towns of Stoke on Trent.
Owls Loft has a cosy cottage feel, but is spacious and comfortable. The kitchen and shower room are located on the ground floor and upstairs is a sitting room, with log burner, and a double bedroom. Outside there is a private patio seating area and you have exclusive access to a small paddock.
Owls Loft is on the edge of Biddulph Moor, a village in the Staffordshire countryside. We have 2 pubs, 2 shops and a school and we are just a few miles from Congleton or Leek, and any amenities you may need are available in Biddulph, just down the hill. This is a lovely area for walking, and we are just up the road from Biddulph Grange Gardens and country park.

This gem is conveniently situated in a quiet area of Bentilee, Stoke-On-Trent. It lies between Longton and Hanley (main Stoke centre) and it is only 10-12 minutes' drive/bus ride to the main train station, Staffordshire University and Hanley town centre. The nearest bus stop is only about 50m away and there is a Lidl grocery shop only 6 minutes' walk away. FREE parking is available on the street and there's a pub only 150m away that sells good food and a gym nearby.
The house is luxuriously decorated with newly decorated walls and floors. The space provides high speed BROADBAND and digital TV (Virgin Media). Bathroom has both bath tub and shower separate but in the same room. There is an additional downstairs toilet. The kitchen is beautifully decorated and equipped with a microwave, stove, oven, kettle, self-served breakfast, a washing machine and a dishwasher. The garden is well maintained and can be used by guests. There are garden chairs on the deck to make guests feel more at home.

    The barn is in a very rural setting with only 3 other properties close by. There is a garage at the top of the road for emergency items and the town of Cheadle is only 5 miles with lots of coffee shops. Also very close is Alton towers.

    Bijou guest house, in splendid isolation! Stay in our converted piggery, built out of local stone and set in lovely grounds on the edge of Ipstones. Set back from a narrow country road which is barely trafficed, you will feel the stresses of modern life slip away. The Piggery is decorated as a tiny house, complete with its own shower and toilet and warmed by underfloor heating. The Piggery is a great base for visits to Alton Towers, The Peak District, The Potteries and for outdoor pursuits.
    We are in the heart of the Staffordshire Moorlands, with walks into the Churnet valley on the door step. In September you can hear the resident stags rutting in the Churnet woods when the sun starts to set. You could walk down to Frogall by the canal and steam railway watching out for Kingfishers and with an ear open for woodpeckers. Hetty's tearoom is a lovely cafe/restaurant, recently opened in an old mill-building on the canal, which serves fabulous light snacks (the obligatory Staffordshire oatcake!) and a variety of cakes, including gluten free. We are 15 mins from the spectacular Roaches, with lovely walks of elevation, gritstone and heathers. (Stop off at The Lazy Trout in Meerbrook for excellent food). Ilam and Dovedale are highly recommended as a pretty but unique Staffordshire village with the famous stepping stones and flat topped hill.Our family lived there for generations, so Dad or I can probably bore the bones of you with Ilam knowledge! I'll leave it for you to ask... For cyclists the area is superb! There are many routes, challenging hill climbs and great training ground for serious competitors. For those after something more leisurely, try the Manifold Valley cycle track, through the cast scenery of the White Peaks. look out for Thor's Cave and sit by the river at the Manifold cafe with a refreshment. For gardeners I recommend a visit to Trentham Gardens, quite breathtaking planting in the restored gardens by Europe's finest designers (and also attractive cabin retail units). Locally, Consall Hall at the head of the Churnet Valley has beautiful landscaped gardens, splendid in Spring with the Rhodedendrons and Azalaes in flower. The iconic Chatsworth Hall is a lovely country drive away and for those looking for Instrusrial history, Stoke-on -Trent is the place for you! Gladstone Pottery is an excellent museum, I don't know anyone who hasn't been fascinated with a day there, or come home without having tried to throw a pot or paint a china flower! Emma Bridgewater, she of the spotty mugs, has breathed some life back into Stoke with her highly successful factory. It is worth a visit to the factory shop and the boho/Industrial cool cafe and decorating studio. After all that you will be so glad to sink onto the super comfy double bed or sip some wino on the patio, fire pit blazing and soak up the complete peace and quiet.
    Ipstones is a pretty village in the Staffordshire moorlands with a thriving community spirit. With three pubs, a shop and butchers to cater for your needs, friendly locals abound and frequent music nights (Sunday night acoustic night at The Sea Lion). The walking surrounding The Piggery is excellent - it is just off the Staffordshire Way, on the doorstep of Consall and Froghall Warf, which use the industrial heritage to great use with canal cafes and pubs and steam railway. The ale rail is a great way to enjoy what local beers and ciders are around with a trip on the train! f you don't want to think about cooking on your break we have two pubs which serve food in the village ( and one for people looking for a traditional local with a great range of whisky). They are 10 minutes walk down the country lane, so park up and potter down! I recommend The Marquis of Granby for a great meal at really good prices. it is popular round here though, so booking is necessary! There are a many other recommendations around, with Leek, Ashbourne , Cheadle and Buxton offering plenty for every palette.

Das Piggery hat alles, was wir brauchten, erstaunt, dass es auf kleinem Raum so viel Platz finden konnte und der Außenbereich an glücklichen sonnigen Tagen begeistert war.   • Die Piggery ist eine sehr charmante kleine Flucht. Die Gastgeber haben erstaunliche Arbeit geleistet, indem sie alles, was Sie brauchen, auf so kleinem Raum unterbringen. Die Lage ist ruhig und sehr friedlich. Die nahegelegene Kneipe des Marquis macht ihren Bewertungen alle Ehre und ich kann das Steak und das Ale Pie nur wärmstens empfehlen! Die Gastgeber sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Sie haben uns in letzter Minute untergebracht und Rob war da, um uns bei unserer Ankunft zu begrüßen. Der Innenraum ist süß und hat alles, was Sie brauchen. Gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis!

  • Die Piggery ist ein Dinky ... verstecken. Die Lage ist großartig ... Ich habe nachts nicht so viele Sterne in der Nacht gesehen. Phillipa war sehr gut in der Kommunikation. Es gab schöne große Handtücher und das Bett war sehr schön. Es gibt Außenanlagen, z. B. eine Feuerstelle und ein BBQ, aber wir waren im Februar im Schnee und entschieden uns für das örtliche Pub. Dies ist ein perfektes Beispiel für Airbnb ..... es hat uns sehr gut gefallen und würde jedem empfehlen, der entweder alleine oder mit seinen anderen Xxxx fliehen möchte

    Our small but comfortable 1 bedroom cottage is situated at the edge of a village. It has spectacular views across the valley and is in easy reach of interesting places to visit such as Chatsworth House, Alton Towers and the Peak District.
    Situated on the edge of a village, at the end of a private lane you will find your holiday retreat. On the ground floor is the kitchen, a double bedroom and the bathroom. Up the stairs is the living room with views over the valley. The Wolery has all the modern conveniences that you need for a relaxing holiday.
    Situated at the edge of a village in the unspoilt and little know area that is the Staffordshire Moorlands. The Wolery is a comfortable walking distance from the local, well stocked village shop and 3 very good pubs, who are happy to welcome dogs. The Marquis of Granby and The Red Lion offer good choice menu and prices. The village is situated close to cycle paths nearby where there is safe cycling for miles. Also, locally there are fishing pools and clay pigeon shooting ranges should you wish to try countryside pursuits.

Das Haus ist sehr schön, sehr sauber und gemütlich und in einer ruhigen Lage, die angegebenen Anweisungen sind auf jeden Fall notwendig, aber es lohnt sich! Die kleinen Aufmerksamkeiten mit Milch, Butter und Keksen wurden sehr geschätzt und machten unseren Aufenthalt so angenehm. Wir würden gerne wieder besuchen!

    It is a spacious victorion house in a old textile town called Leek which is in a fabulous area of the peak district . A short walk from the house will take you to the centre of Leek where you can relax and enjoy the architectural trails where you can visit many biuldings influenced by the arts and crafts style .THere are many independent shops , boutiques and antique markets to enjoy .
    Leek is within easy reach of Alton Towers (approx. 30 min. drive), Buxton (15 minute drive), and stunning countryside in the Peak District. If any questions about other local attractions let me know in your request.

    Situated on the edge of the Peak District National park this holiday home is ideal for couples and families who want to take a short break or a longer holiday in the idyllic countryside of the Peak District. Close to breath taking scenery, nature reserves, Alton Towers and the towns of Buxton and Ashbourne, Leek is the perfect English holiday destination. The town itself has interesting shops, a lively market, award winning restaurants and many friendly and comfortable public houses.
    This is a three storey converted townhouse. The original building was a silk mill and part of our property is the bridge (now blocked off at one end) between one part of the old mill and the other. The house has central heating and the bathroom has an electric shower. The house has some games, Freesat TV, NowTV, DVD Player, Pool/Table tennis table and CD player if you fancy just staying in and relaxing. For guests with younger children there is a travel cot, highchair and stair available at the house.

    Our luxury, totally self contained, spacious accommodation is situated in a prime location near Leek, a pretty market town within easy reach of the Peak District, Alton Towers and beyond. The three storey, self contained accommodation is a perfect base for investigating the surrounding area. Ideal for all year round breaks, get togethers, wedding accommodation for Dunwood Hall and The Ashes Barn, sightseeing or walking in the Peak District or finding out the history of the Potteries.
    A large, stylish annex in the grounds of a 1930's detached house, with stables and outstanding views over the gardens and fields. On the ground floor is a fully fitted kitchen diner with tables and chairs plus all the appliances required for a self-catering stay, plus a welcome pack on arrival including bread, butter, croissants or similar, jam, marmalade, milk, fresh orange juice, tea, coffee, fresh fruit and much more. On the first floor there is a galleried landing leading to a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, both with outstanding views over the garden and fields beyond and a shower room. Shampoo, conditioner, soap and towels are provided. A large, spacious lounge is also situated on this floor and is furnished to a high standard. From the lounge a fabulous open ash staircase leads up to the lovely master bedroom which is built in the eaves of the house. This bedroom has a small en-suite toilet and wash hand basin for your convenience. From the bedroom there are far reaching views over the rear garden, open countryside and stables as well as lovely views over the front garden and open fields. We can possibly accommodate 6 guests on request for a small extra fee. Business guests welcome.
    Leek and the surrounding area has many good eating places, pubs and restaurants with a variety of different types of food including Indian, Thai, Chinese, Mexican, Italian and of course good home made local cooking. One of our favourites is the Lazy Trout which is about a 15 to 20 minutes drive away. The White Lion in Leek offers good home cooking and has a lovely beer garden in the summer. The Black Horse pub is about ten minutes away, serves food and has a band on every Saturday night. The Wheel pub is 2 minutes walk away in the village and serves food every day. Children are welcome.

The site enjoys the perfect peace and beauty of Wetley Moor whilst only being 3 miles from shops and country pubs and spectacular walks and close to Alton Towers theme park. Guests can help on the farm and interact with the animals under the owners guidance and help with farm tasks if they would like
    There are 3 stairs inside a porch to get into the caravan. There is one double room and 2 singles. The kitchen has full working oven and grill, microwave, fridge. The caravan is fully heated but the location on Wetley Moor is exposed so plenty of warm clothes are recommended. There is a large flat-screen TV and DVD player but no internet

Die Kommunikation mit Lucy war wirklich gut und wir fanden die Farm ohne Probleme. Die Einrichtungen im Wohnwagen sind ausgezeichnet und die Aussicht vor allem nachts auf Stoke war reizend. Der Wohnbereich war trotz sehr windigen Wetters sehr gemütlich - die Schlafzimmer waren etwas kühl, aber es wurden viele zusätzliche Decken bereitgestellt und wir haben alle gut geschlafen. Die Farm ist fantastisch und wir alle liebten die Tiere. Lucy macht hier sehr lohnende Arbeit und verdient wirklich Unterstützung. Ich hoffe, ich komme wieder.

Im Grunde war es ein Zuhause von zu Hause aus, während wir gleichzeitig das Gefühl hatten, dass wir uns von all dem entfernt hatten und dennoch nahe am Zentrum waren. Lucy war ein brillanter Gastgeber mit viel Ortskenntnis, um uns auf unsere Weise zu helfen.     We are situated just outside the picturesque village of Bagnall. We are a 25 minute drive from Alton Towers, 20 minutes from the market town of Leek and 20 minutes from the Potteries. The annex is a self contained building standing next to our home. It has a fully equipped kitchen complete with a washing machine. We have a number of animals sharing our lives, most of whom are very happy to welcome visitors.
    The annex offers a modern comfortable living space. As you step into the building you enter the brand new fully equipped kitchen, complete with washing machine. Downstairs there is a seating area/bedroom comprising of a single bed with a truckle, a table and 4 chairs and a single comfy chair. The shower room, WC and hand basin is accessed from this room. Accessed from a small stair case, you will find the main bedroom containing a standard double bed with 2 bed side tables and lamps. A sofa, easy chair and TV. We offer a complimentary selection of breakfast cereals with fresh milk.
    We live on the outskirts of the very pretty village of Bagnall. There is a tea shop in walking distance at the local garden centre and a bit further along in the village there is the village pub which has a very good menu as well as offering a typical village pub experience.

    This gem is conveniently situated in a quiet area of Bentilee, Stoke-On-Trent. It lies between Longton and Hanley (main Stoke centre) and it is only 10-12 minutes' drive/bus ride to the main train station, Staffordshire University and Hanley town centre. The nearest bus stop is only about 50m away and there is a Lidl grocery shop only 6 minutes' walk away. FREE parking is available on the street and there's a pub only 150m away that sells good food and a gym nearby.
    The house is luxuriously decorated with newly decorated walls and floors. The space provides high speed BROADBAND and digital TV (Virgin Media). Bathroom has both bath tub and shower separate but in the same room. There is an additional downstairs toilet. The kitchen is beautifully decorated and equipped with a microwave, stove, oven, kettle, self-served breakfast, a washing machine and a dishwasher. The garden is well maintained and can be used by guests. There are garden chairs on the deck to make guests feel more at home.

Ryeland Barn is situated within the grounds of our working farm, which enjoys 6 acres of pasture and livestock including Ryeland Sheep, Donkeys, Pygmy Goats, Geese, Ducks, Water Fowl and Chickens.
    We now have an ARCTIC SPA HOT TUB to help to soothe away your stress while you relax and unwind. The Ryeland guests have unlimited exclusive use of this and it has Wifi too. The Ryeland is a detached barn within our Farm approx 150 m away from our Farm House giving the ultimate in privacy for our guests. We have no close neighbors to disturb so you can feel relaxed in your environment The Ryeland is a newly renovated barn in a quiet rural location close to Alton Towers and various market towns of interest. We have a choice of several local country pubs that serve home cooked food and fine Ales, Wines and Gin`s etc.
    The neighborhood is rural and our nearest neighbors are at least 250m or more away. Few people pass The Ryeland Barn but it does have a bridal path along one side which is used by one neighbor to access their property other wise only walkers or horse riders pass by.

    Georgian townhouse, in a conservation area in the centre of Leek. It has a lovely light filled living room, and eastern inspired guest bedroom. The living space is spread over 4 floors, with a basement kitchen and bathroom accessible by guests. Special features include a multi fuel burner for those cold winter nights. Also, for our more musical guests at special request musicians can record here in the studio. Please enquire in advance for this facility, and if a paid session is taken for 6 hours or more, the cost per night whilst recording will be discounted by £25.
    Leek is a vibrant market town at the foot of the peak district, ideal as a base for walks in the area, or for visiting Alton towers for example. Other daytime activities include markets at weekends including the famous once a month artisan market. Nightlife wise, main features being regular live music, occasional theatre and films at the Foxlowe arts centre restaurants and bars serving all manner of quality ales, craft ales, cocktails, and even has its own Belgian bar.

Hide and Sheep Shepherds Hut has electricity installed, along with the solar panel on the roof, reducing our carbon foot print.
    There is no getting up in in the night and going outside when nature calls. Hide and Sheep Shepherds Hut comes with its own wash room incorporation toilet and wash hand basin.     Tucked behind Cheadle’s Georgian High street in Staffordshire , this self catering holiday cottage is ideal for couples wanting peace and privacy, whilst at the same time having all of the town’s facilities(pubs, restaurants,general store etc.) on the doorstep. Free parking is just over the road. Self checkin with lock box The cottage is well situated to explore the Peak District and Stoke on Trent. Convenient for Alton Towers which is only a 15 minute drive
    Hidden Cottage is quiet and secluded. There are 8 steps down to the cottage. One step down to the kitchen that is well equipped. I provide cleaning equipment and tea towels etc . Also I leave tea bags , coffee, sugar. salt and pepper in the cupboard. There is plenty of crockery and knifes and forks so you do not have to wash everyday but can easily fill the dishwasher up. There is a step up to the spacious bedroom with a King size bed and a step up to the bathroom which has a large shower.
    Cheadle in Staffordshire is a small country market town with lots of independent shops and cafes. There is a convenience store nearby and two supermarkets on the edge of town.

    Churnet Reach is located approximatly 15 minutes from Alton Towers, Ashes Barns and Consall Hall wedding venues. The Potteries factory outlets are about 20 minutes away. We believe that we have created a unique place to stay, offering 5* luxury at self catering affordability. How many self catering rooms in the UK have a 4 poster bed, log cabin kitchen and a hot tub!! All electricity is included. There is a BBQ area which is for the guests staying in the annex only. There is outdoor seating for that alfresco dining experience. We have numerous guests returning to Churnet Reach each year. Churnet Reach is located only 15 minutes from the Staffordshire Moorlands which is an area of outstanding natural beauty, providing many outdoor pursuits such as, cycling, walking, climbing, mountaineering, canoeing, sailing, caving, the list goes on!! The Churnet Valley steam railway is only 5 minutes walk away from Churnet Reach, running steam and heritage diesel trains most weekends. There are quaint country pubs within walking distance if you don't fancy cooking one evening. The historic market town of Leek is about 10 minutes away by car with a multitude of shops, supermarkets and too many restaurants and pubs to mention. There are regular farmer's markets held in Leek and also an arts, craft & cultural centre. The kitchen is brand new for this season, featuring state of the art instant hot water, induction hob cooking, toaster, microwave, oven, hob, fridge-freezer, electric kettle, electric heating, wooden flooring and romantic mood lighting. Fully equipped cupboards with every utensil that springs to mind. Outside there is a private hot tub for sole by the annexe guests, covered by a Gazebo, just in case the good old British weather lets us down. The hot tub has uninterrupted views of the garden which is enclosed by mesh screening to keep out the little insects. We have tried to facilitate into Churnet Reach the kind of space which we would appreciate whilst being away from home and hope our guests appreciate the area in which we live.
    We are situated only 15 minutes from Alton Towers, we are the same distance from Ashes barn wedding venue & a similar distance to the Peak district national park with all of it's outdoor activities. There are the pottery museums in Stoke on Trent near by, Wedgewood, Royal Doulton & Emma Bridgewater.

The bus to the main bus station and Longton can be caught just a minute's walk away and it takes about 10-15minutes by bus or driving to get to main places of interest.
