Cable Cafe is a local place near Oval that transforms from a quiet and peaceful cafe with great home-roasted coffee, artisan sour dough sandwiches and cakes during the day into a thriving fun bar with great beer and cocktails in the evenings. London is full of fantastic cinemas, but if you want a flavour of inner city south London - a bus journey to the very very affordable Peckhamplex cinema - £5 a ticket any time any day - is certainly worth the trip. The policy of very cheap tickets has made the cinema enormously popular with locals which makes going to the flix (movies) in Peckham a real event. Peckham is an up and coming area with a wonderful mix people and food outlets and much more, but it is a place few tourists find. But if you feel adventurous - go! It's a great place.
